Sunayu, LLC has an exciting opening for you, as an Infrastructure Engineer. As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for technical duties such as infrastructure design, creation, maintenance, and support associated with cloud computing. You will be working closely with our Cloud Architect, Solution Architects, Systems Engineers, Software Engineers, and Operations Engineering/Manager as well as Government counterparts to perform and manage our cloud solution, cloud computing strategy and all associated documentation.


While most work is conducted on-site at our client location in Bethesda, MD, we offer a flexible schedule and, occasionally, some tasks may be performed remotely.


Key Responsibilities Include:

Deploying and debugging cloud initiatives as needed in accordance with best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
Applying security best practices by implementing DISA hardening guidelines (such as STIGs) across cloud infrastructure and operating systems.
Utilizing Python programming to automate cloud deployments, infrastructure configuration, and daily operational tasks.

Employing exceptional problem-solving skills.
Building and designing web services in the cloud.
Designing and implementing cloud-based platforms throughout the program.
Coordinating with DTP team to prioritize product backlogs for sprints and releases.
Assisting with monitoring & reporting technical variances; facilitate resolution of technical issues that adversely impact successful product delivery or total system cost.
Assisting with identifying and supporting external dependencies where needed.


To be successful in this role you need (required):

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience) with 8+ years of relevant experience; Masters degree with 6+ years of experience.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Polygraph.
  • Current DoD 8570.01M IAT Level II (or higher) certification, such as Security+, CySA+, SSCP, CCNA Security, or CISSP (or Associate).
  • Ability to obtain Privileged User Account (PUA) certification.
  • Experience administering AWS cloud environments, including EC2, Load Balancers, S3, EFS, VPCs, and AWS CLI.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and container platforms such as EKS, Rancher, or RKE2.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux system administration.
  • Experience implementing security best practices, including DISA STIGs and Kubernetes security controls (RBAC, service accounts, and resource security).
  • Proficiency in Python and scripting for automation and operational tooling (UNIX shell, Perl, or similar)
  • Experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting production Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes tools and technologies including Helm, Argo CD, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, Ingress controllers, Network Policies, and service mesh solutions.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as AWS CDK or CloudFormation.
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Salt or Ansible.
  • Knowledge of REST APIs, web services, networking, and internet protocols.
  • Experience working with open-source technologies and modern infrastructure platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with customers, engineers, architects, and cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with team members from diverse technical backgrounds.
