Infrastructure Engineer - Identity, AI & Cloud Platforms
Position Summary
Simon Property Group is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to help design, implement, administer, and support enterprise identity, artificial intelligence, and cloud infrastructure platforms. This role requires hands-on engineering experience and the ability to independently support assigned infrastructure components, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and contribute to secure, scalable platform improvements.
The ideal candidate has practical experience with cloud platforms, identity administration, automation, and infrastructure operations in an enterprise environment. This individual will partner with Cyber Security, Application Development, Data & Analytics, and Infrastructure teams to deliver reliable solutions, improve operational processes, and maintain appropriate security and governance controls.
Primary Responsibilities
Identity & Access Engineering
• Configure, administer, and troubleshoot Microsoft Entra ID services and enterprise identity solutions.
• Implement and maintain identity modernization capabilities including authentication, MFA, Conditional Access, SSO, RBAC, identity governance, and lifecycle management.
• Develop and maintain secure integrations for enterprise applications and cloud services.
• Implement identity security controls aligned with cybersecurity and compliance requirements.
• Support mergers, acquisitions, tenant migrations, and enterprise onboarding initiatives.
AI Enablement & Governance
• Configure, support, and monitor secure enterprise adoption of AI technologies including Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Gemini, and other emerging AI platforms.
• Partner with business, security, and data teams to translate platform requirements into practical AI and infrastructure solutions.
• Implement and maintain governance controls for AI agents, AI workloads, enterprise data integrations, and usage-based AI services.
• Build and support AI infrastructure and enterprise integrations across platforms such as Copilot, Claude, Gemini, Azure AI services, vector search, document intelligence, and related AI capabilities.
• Research emerging AI technologies and contribute to standards for enterprise adoption.
Cloud Infrastructure Engineering
• Deploy, configure, and maintain enterprise cloud platform services across Azure, AWS, and GCP, or related cloud-native solutions.
• Maintain secure and scalable cloud services using platform-appropriate governance, RBAC, storage, networking, monitoring, and security services across Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Implement infrastructure-as-code and automation solutions to improve reliability and speed of deployment.
• Contribute to cloud modernization, migration, and integration efforts across multi-cloud and enterprise platform environments.
• Monitor cloud usage, performance, and capacity trends; recommend practical improvements for cost optimization and reliability.
Automation & Operational Excellence
• Develop automation solutions using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, Azure automation services, and related technologies.
• Identify repeatable operational tasks and develop automation or self-service improvements to reduce manual effort.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, investigate incidents, and contribute to improvements in observability, reliability, disaster recovery, and resiliency.
• Participate in technical reviews, document procedures, and provide recommendations for assigned infrastructure initiatives.
Security & Compliance
• Collaborate with Cyber Security teams on cloud security, identity security, monitoring, and compliance initiatives.
• Support auditing, governance, and regulatory compliance activities by maintaining documentation, evidence, and platform controls.
• Ensure secure deployment of AI and cloud technologies through appropriate controls and standards.
Required Qualifications
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise infrastructure, cloud engineering, systems administration, or related technology roles.
• Hands-on experience administering Microsoft Entra ID, identity management, authentication, MFA, Conditional Access, and access control processes.
• Hands-on experience with cloud administration and engineering across Azure, AWS, GCP, or comparable enterprise cloud platforms.
• Experience developing scripts or automation using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, Azure automation services, or comparable tools.
• Working knowledge of RBAC, cloud security controls, monitoring, and compliance practices in enterprise environments.
• Solid understanding of enterprise networking, authentication, cloud architecture principles, troubleshooting, and operational support.
• Ability to manage assigned work independently, collaborate across technical teams, and communicate recommendations clearly.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Claude, Gemini, AI agents, or related enterprise AI platforms.
• Experience with Azure AI Services, AWS AI/ML services, Google Cloud AI capabilities, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, or related ML/AI workloads.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, AWS-native automation, Google Cloud automation, infrastructure-as-code, or related automation technologies.
• Familiarity with tenant migrations, cloud transformations, and identity modernization programs.
• Microsoft or related certifications in cloud, security, identity, AI, or infrastructure technologies.
