Description

JOB TITLE: Research SME - Quantum Information Science
LOCATION: Bethesda, Maryland
CLEARANCE: No clearance required to start but prefer TS/SCI with CI Poly.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Attend meetings, workshops, conferences and testing events as a Subject Matter Expert.
 Assist with the development of presentations such as Program Management Reviews.
 Serve as a Liaison between Performers, Test & Evaluation contributors, Government and Transition partners.
 Review, provide analysis, and make recommendations concerning technical reports, data and Performer approaches.
 Select, establish, curate, and maintain collaborative communication, issue tracking, and configuration environments for use by the program.
 Provide reach-back support for program related requirements for systems integration, design, development, modeling and simulation, data analytics and architecture design.
 Examine data sources and literary sources for emerging technology related to the Program.
 Provide technical support and expertise on new concepts beyond the Program but integral to the Program's success.
REQUIRED EXPERTISE:
Must have current Top Secret/SCI (Tier 5+) with polygraph clearance.
 Bachelors' degree in physics, applied physics, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a closely related technical field, with six plus (6+) years of work experience in one of these fields, or Masters' degree with two plus (2+) years of work experience.
 Four (4) years of experience or equivalent education involving quantum information science, quantum device physics, quantum sensing, quantum system modeling, and/or quantum control techniques.
 Two (2) years of experience or equivalent education with laboratory characterization or test platforms relevant to quantum systems, such as cryogenic test environments, optical/laser-based measurement systems, RF/microwave measurement tools, or qubit/device characterization setups.
 One (1) year of experience managing a multi-disciplinary research and development (R&D) or Test and Evaluation (T&E) team.
 Two (2) years of experience creating program plans, work breakdown structures, and milestone schedules.
DESIRED EXPERTISE:
 Masters' degree or PhD in physics, applied physics, electrical engineering, computer engineering, quantum information science, or closely related fields, with four plus (4+) years of work experience.
 Four (4) years of experience with scientific and experimental programming languages/tools such as Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or languages used in quantum research (e.g., Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#).
 Two (2) years of experience with machine learning, optimization, signal processing, or statistical techniques relevant to quantum system characterization, noise mitigation, or control.
 Two (2) years of experience in the Intelligence Community (IC), including experience with requirements, CONOPS, and transition.
 Awareness of supply chain, security, and reliability considerations for quantum technologies and supporting hardware.
 Four (4) years of experience managing a multi-disciplinary research and development (R&D) or Test and Evaluation (T&E) team.
 One (1) year of experience as a Project Manager or Deputy Project Manager.
