This role ensures network connectivity to both LAN/WAN, including the engineering of standard data communications services, as well as implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks.

IT Network Architect Details
Essential Job Duties:
  • Manage and monitor all installed infrastructure hardware and systems.
  • Plans, researches, evaluates, designs, and develops network systems by applying engineering, hardware and software design theories and principles to develop a compatible system infrastructure in line with organization strategies.
  • Conducts internal studies of network performance and traffic analysis.
  • Analyzes and solves networking problems as they occur.
  • Research problems, conducts cable and equipment installation, and evaluates new technologies.
  • Prepares detailed specifications and documentation from high-level designs.
  • Works to broaden own capabilities by continuing to build knowledge of the organization, processes, and customers.
  • Performs a range of assignments using guidelines or policies.
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
  • Responsible for maintaining security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
  • Provide 3rd level support for enterprise-wide infrastructure systems and technologies.
  • Work with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
  • Works closely with decision makers to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions.
  • Participates in enterprise strategy development, including environmental/infrastructure analysis.
  • Maintains documentation and architectural diagrams of systems.
  • May be on-call.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • College graduate - BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent field required.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate Preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of networking principles, routing / switching, and protocols. (e.g. BGP, EIGRP, EVPN)
  • High level of experience with Cisco and competitor networking products.
  • Advanced knowledge of WAN network strategies and circuits such as Metro-E, and Dark Fiber.
  • Familiarity with network analysis tools such Cisco DNAC, Prime or Solarwinds.
  • Understanding of DR strategies and design.
  • Experience with Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers
  • Experience with Cisco ISE
  • Understanding of Cisco Call Manager and Contact Center.
  • Experience as a Senior Network Technician or Engineer highly preferred.
  • Experience with medium to large network infrastructure project planning.
  • Experience with network infrastructures and network security.
  • Must meet and deal successfully with a wide variety of people.
  • Must be accomplished in written and verbal business communication.
  • Must have analytic skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
