Description
Do Great Things! Durham Technical Community College is hiring an adjunct instructor of HVAC in the Industrial Systems Technology Program. The adjunct instructor will be preparing and delivering courses, teaching all assigned courses, upholding academic policies, and taking responsibility for classroom preparation and maintenance. Completing mandatory training is also required.

Examples of Duties
  1. The adjunct instructor is responsible for course preparation, delivery, grading, and records management.
  2. Teach all courses as assigned for the full duration of scheduled instruction
  3. Enforce academic policy and procedures, comply with institutional rules and regulations.
  4. Assume responsibility for off-site/classroom prep, including maintenance and clean-up, as all shop spaces are shared with other instructors.
  5. Must complete mandatory training.

Minimum Qualifications
Must meet one or more of the qualifications below:
  • Mechanical License
  • Associate degree from accredited institution in HVAC/AHR technology
  • 5 years of experience working in HVAC industry with CFC Universal certification

  1. Knowledge of HVAC systems, how to trouble shoot, repair, and maintain them
  2. Ability to develop projects for students to learn HVAC systems in addition to share demonstrations to assist in their learning process.

  5. Ability to think creatively and put ideas into action.
