IT SUPPORT ASSOCIATE

RBM Automotive Group is seeking a mid-level IT Associate to support dealership locations in South Carolina.  This is an “in-person” position (NOT REMOTE).  Candidates should be able to commute daily to the Greenville-Anderson-Greer, SC Metro area.  

The ideal candidate would have prior experience working with dealerships and CDK software, along with expertise working to provide in-person support to end users.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with end users and 3rd party vendors to provide in-person support.
    • Coordinate and execute new hire onboarding and employee separation processes.
    • Configure and install hardware.
    • Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of hardware and software issues.
  • Respond to incoming calls, emails, and escalations from users, ensuring accurate ticket documentation and prompt, effective communication with end users.
  • Provide emergency after-hours support as necessary to promptly address outages, minimize disruption, and ensure continuity of business operations.
  • Lead and assist with IT projects; proactively identify and solve problems.
  • Enforce IT best practices and security protocols; share technical knowledge and best practices with team members across the organization.
  • Maintain IT inventory and documentation.
  • Prioritize work to meet deadlines and ensure critical tasks are completed.

Abide by company policy and departmental best practices and procedures and perform other duties as assigned.

  • Prior to being employed, applicants for employment must participate in RBM’s normal screening process which includes: completing a full employment application; satisfactory criminal, credit and driving records checks (where applicable); in-person interviews and other inquiries. 
  • Must be authorized to work in the USA for any employer.
  • Basic communication and problem-solving skills; basic mathematical skills using American units of measure is required.
  • High school diploma or the equivalent is required.  Associates degree or higher is preferred.
  • Previous experience it an IT support / Help Desk role is preferred.
  • Previous experience working with CDK inside the automotive industry is preferred.
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+ and Network+ are preferred.
  • Physical activities include: position body and move in order to trouble shoot/install hardware; exert force to move/manipulate objects (up to 50lbs occasionally, 25lbs frequently,); remain stationary/sedentary for long periods of time; operate tools and equipment; detect and identify safety issues; repetitive motion.
  • Work is conducted inside, outside, and in a shop environment in proximity to moving vehicles, mechanical equipment, with exposure to chemicals, and moderate to loud noise levels.  Must be able to frequently traverse diverse terrain and multi-level work environments with stairs and/or ladders to complete essential job functions.
