Job description

Summary

Owns the administration and operational performance of IT infrastructure systems including servers, storage, network, and backup systems. Serves as the primary escalation point and technical lead.

This is a temporary position employed through an agency. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administer servers, virtualization platforms, storage systems, and network infrastructure
  • Manage switching, firewall rule implementation, VPN, and wireless networks
  • Act as Tier 3 escalation point for complex infrastructure incidents
  • Lead incident resolution for infrastructure-related issues
  • Lead root cause analysis and problem management efforts
  • Execute and lead complex changes, upgrades, and deployments
  • Ensure backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes are effective
  • Maintain system performance, uptime, and reliability across all sites
  • Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and runbooks
  • Mentor junior administrators and provide technical guidance
  • Coordinate with vendors and support multi-site infrastructure needs
  • Provides Cable Plant Management.
  • Coordinates warranty service and return merchandise authorizations.
  • Collects, records, and distributes technical and administrative documentation.
  • Organizes technical and administrative electronic records assuring integrity.
  • Assists with the development and compliance of department policies, procedures and work instructions.

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification

Associate degree or technical certification in Infrastructure Administration, a minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. MCITP, CompTIA A+, or Network+ certification preferred.

Employees working on programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations must qualify as a US Person which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Experience with FreshService or similar ITSM platforms.
  • Experience with NIST 800-171 / CMMC Level 2 network and server compliance.
  • Familiarity with CMDB best practices.
  • Ability to work well independently and cross-functionally as part of an established and growing team.
  • Ability to manage a project effectively to completion.
  • Strong knowledge of networking (switching, routing, firewalls).
  • Demonstrated ability to support Windows Server.

The expected WA salary range for this position is between $109,000.00 - $150,00.00 USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, location, and other factors permitted by law.
