Job Description

The University of Notre Dame is committed to maintaining a safe, secure, and world-class campus environment. As an IT professional within the Campus Safety IT Applications team, you will support the critical technology infrastructure that enables University Operations and Campus Safety to function effectively. The IT Solutions Associate role serves as a foundational member of the team, providing day-to-day support for systems and solutions that protect and serve our community.

In this role, you will work closely with experienced team members to ensure the integrity, maintenance, and security of campus-wide technology. Your work will directly impact our operations, from managing critical IT assets and alarm/CCTV systems to providing end-user support for faculty, staff, and students. What You Will Do

  • IT Systems Support and Maintenance: Install, maintain, and upgrade IT systems, peripherals, and hardware used across multiple partner areas. Manage the physical replacement of IT assets, conduct tier 1 troubleshooting, and maintain a current inventory of computers, cameras, and other equipment to support lifecycle management.

  • Project Support and Consultation: Provide initial consultation and assist in gathering requirements for small-scale projects. Assist the team in designing and planning solutions, including new alarm and CCTV systems. Prepare necessary documentation and paperwork to facilitate part orders and billing for completed installations.

  • End-User and Workgroup Support: Provide customer-focused assistance, including training on equipment functionality. Maintain databases for monitoring software and interpret technical drawings to document completed alarm and CCTV installations. Ensure all activities are documented in the University-approved case tracking system.

  • Data Integrity and Security: Promote best practices for data security and integrity. Support investigations staff by searching and reviewing archived video images and properly securing evidentiary copies in accordance with University policy.

  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development through self-study and training to remain current with industry skills, project management methodologies, and communication techniques.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field. 

  • 1+ years of experience in an IT support position or related role. 

  • Basic to moderate understanding of low-voltage electronics, IP networking, and Windows/Apple platforms. 

  • Proficiency in productivity software, including Microsoft Office and G-Suite. 

  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to practice basic troubleshooting steps. 

  • Excellent communication and people skills, with a service-oriented attitude and the ability to collaborate with all levels of technical skill. 

  • Team-focused mindset with an ability to manage multiple priorities and complete tasks on time.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain CJIS certification, which includes passing an enhanced background check

  • Ability to work in the United States, now or in the future, without visa sponsorship

Preferred

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar professional certifications. 

  • Experience with project management or business analysis. 

  • Prior experience working within a public safety or emergency management environment.

Additional Information
