Role Summary
The Information Security Coordinator supports the Information Security organization by driving the lifecycle of security findings, vulnerabilities, and audit items across multiple pipelines. This individual contributor role reports to the CISO and is responsible for creating, triaging, and assigning security tickets; tracking remediation progress against defined SLAs; following up with stakeholders to push items to closure; and compiling regular status reports, metrics, and presentations for leadership. The Information Security Coordinator works cross-functionally with Security Operations, Application Security, and Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) teams to ensure that security work is visible, prioritized, and completed on schedule. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, comfort with multiple ticketing and reporting platforms, and a proactive communication style that keeps remediation efforts on track.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Create, triage, and assign security tickets across Vulnerability Management, AppSec / Penetration Testing, and GRC / Audit Finding pipelines among others, ensuring each ticket is accurately categorized, prioritized, and routed to the appropriate owner
  • Monitor ticket queues daily, follow up with assignees, and escalate overdue or at-risk items to drive timely remediation
  • Track and enforce SLA compliance for each pipeline; flag breaches early and work with stakeholders to develop remediation plans
  • Compile and distribute regular (weekly, monthly, quarterly) status reports and dashboards summarizing ticket volume, aging, SLA adherence, and remediation trends across all security pipelines
  • Develop and maintain metrics that provide leadership with clear visibility into the health and progress of security remediation efforts
  • Present findings and status updates to security leadership and cross-functional partners
  • Operate across multiple ticketing and project management tools and maintain data consistency between systems
  • Partner with Vulnerability Management, AppSec, GRC, IT, and Engineering teams to ensure findings are understood, accepted, and remediated by the appropriate owners
  • Facilitate regular remediation review meetings, prepare agendas, capture action items, and follow up to ensure accountability
  • Support audit and compliance activities by ensuring findings are tracked to closure and evidence of remediation is documented
  • Identify recurring bottlenecks, patterns, and root causes of SLA misses and propose solutions to security leadership
  • Assist with onboarding new security tools or pipelines into the ticket management framework
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the organization's security policies, standards, and risk tolerance to contextualize prioritization decisions
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3-5 years of experience in security operations, IT project management, or a related coordination role within a security organization
  • Demonstrated experience managing tickets and tracking remediation multiple security disciplines
  • Proficiency with multiple ticketing and project management platforms
  • Strong understanding of SLA frameworks and the ability to build and maintain SLA tracking and reporting mechanisms
  • Excellent organizational skills with rigorous attention to detail and the ability to manage high volumes of concurrent items
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable producing executive-level reports and facilitating cross-functional meetings
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize data from multiple sources into clear, actionable insights
  • Familiarity with common security frameworks and concepts (e.g., CVE/CVSS, OWASP, NIST, SOC 2, ISO 27001) is preferred
  • Relevant certifications such as CAPM, Security+, or similar are a plus
  • Self-starter with a proactive follow-up style; comfortable holding peers and senior stakeholders accountable to deadlines
  • Collaborative and adaptable, able to operate effectively across teams and adjust to shifting priorities
