Burckhardt Compression (US) Inc. is currently recruiting for the position of the IT Network Engineer.  This role is responsible for maintaining an organization's network infrastructure to ensure reliable and secure connectivity.

This role involves configuring hardware and software, troubleshooting network issues, optimizing performance, and supporting users across various departments.

The engineer collaborates with IT teams to develop scalable solutions, enforce security protocols, and plan for future network growth. Strong analytical skills, hands-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and a deep good understanding of networking protocols are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Operation of global LAN Infrastructure (Core network, Access, Wi-Fi Layer).
  • Operation of global WAN Infrastructure including WAN Compression/Acceleration.
  • Operation of global WAN security (Firewalls, VPN, cVPN, IDS/IPS).
  • Operation of the datacenter in the headquarters (cooling, UPS, power, connections).
  • Co-Operation in Operation of the OT-Network (Operations-Technology Network).
  • Engineering and Operation on Microsoft Azure network and connectivity.
  • Support the subsidiaries in the networking area and develop local solutions.
  • Global ISP management and optimization.
  • Networks/Provider management.
  • B2B Communication management (IP Telephony).
  • Deep error troubleshooting in complex worldwide networking systems.
  • Monitoring and maintaining the whole global network infrastructure area.
  • Manage and solve second level Incidents in network infrastructure area.
  • Release Updates/Installations on the networking systems (outside of business hour).
  • Understand business requirements and execute with change request in our ticketing tool.
  • Realization of projects according to design and architecture.
  • Tasks may be changed/updated according to technical development/needs.
  • Assistance with backend team (Servers / Backup) when requested or as needed as on-site hands

Qualified candidates should possess the following combination of Education and Experience: 

  • Technical knowledge in IP networking.
  • At least 5 years' experience with LAN management and networking
  • Knowledge in communication security.
  • Certifications in networking area (Aruba, Fortigate preferably)
  • Experience in a multinational group (European headquarters)
  • Excellent technical skills in the networking sector, willing to learn and personal availability.
