We're looking for a talented Data Governance Analyst III to join our team supporting a complex Federal Government customer in Northern Virginia (Alexandria/Falls Church area). This individual will independently support and implement enterprise data governance and information management initiatives. You will work across technical and business teams to establish consistent data definitions, improve data quality, manage metadata, and document how data moves through enterprise systems.

Work Location:

  • Onsite – Northern Virginia (Alexandria/Falls Church area)

Clearance:
Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain Government security clearance.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Independently develop and implement data governance processes, standards, and procedures.
  • Manage and maintain enterprise data dictionaries, metadata repositories, data catalogs, and related information management resources.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of data lineage, data flows, business rules, and data relationships.
  • Develop and implement data quality processes to identify, measure, document, and resolve data quality issues.
  • Work with data owners and stewards to establish and maintain data definitions, ownership, stewardship, and governance requirements.
  • Analyze data governance issues and recommend solutions to improve data quality, consistency, usability, and accessibility.
  • Support the development and implementation of enterprise data governance frameworks.
  • Establish and maintain metadata standards and processes.
  • Facilitate collaboration among technical teams, data owners, data stewards, analysts, and business stakeholders.
  • Develop governance documentation, procedures, standards, and guidance.
  • Monitor compliance with established data governance and information management practices.
  • Support data governance working groups and provide subject matter expertise on assigned initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve enterprise data management practices and processes.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Data Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 4+ years of progressively responsible experience in data governance, data management, information management, data quality, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining data dictionaries, metadata, data catalogs, and data lineage.
  • Experience developing or implementing data governance processes, standards, and procedures.
  • Experience with data quality assessment, monitoring, and remediation.
  • Experience working with data owners, data stewards, technical teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of data management concepts, including metadata, data lineage, data stewardship, data quality, and data classification.
  • Ability to analyze complex data management issues and develop practical solutions.
  • Strong documentation, communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience implementing enterprise data governance frameworks.
  • Experience with Collibra, Alation, Informatica, Microsoft Purview, or similar data governance/catalog platforms.
  • Experience developing enterprise metadata standards and data classification schemes.

Salary Range
$100,000-$125,000
The posted salary range represents the anticipated compensation for this position. Final compensation will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications, years of directly relevant experience, education, certifications, security clearance, contract requirements, and other business considerations.
