DevOps/Traefik Migration Lead | Falls Church, Virginia, United States DevOps/Traefik Migration Lead Location: Fully Remote (Must Work EST Hours) Employment Type: Contract | Experience Level: Senior (5+ years) About the Role Join Apex Systems as our Lead DevOps & Cloud Operations Engineer, driving the migration of our Kubernetes ingress layer from NGINX Ingress Controller to Traefik. As the subject matter expert, you will design, implement, and optimize robust cloud and DevOps solutions across cutting-edge platforms. Your leadership will directly impact reliability, scalability, and the digital transformation of enterprise systems supporting thousands of users. Responsibilities - Assess current NGINX ingress environments and architect Traefik-based solutions for scalable and secure traffic management. - Lead the migration process from NGINX Ingress Controller to Traefik, including configuration of ingress rules, middleware, SSL/TLS, and traffic routing. - Design, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitHub Pipelines, and Azure DevOps. - Deploy, administer, and troubleshoot applications on AKS, GKE, Kubernetes, and Docker. - Support and manage Informatica PowerCenter/IICS workflows, integrations, and resolve production incidents. - Conduct incident management, root cause analysis, problem management, and performance tuning across DevOps and middleware environments. - Communicate technical updates and solutions directly to clients, ensuring clarity and stakeholder satisfaction. Required Skills and Experience - Minimum 5 years in DevOps, CI/CD, cloud operations, and production support. - Proven hands-on expertise with GitHub Actions, GitHub Pipelines, Azure DevOps, AKS, GKE, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud networking. - Demonstrated success in migrating NGINX Ingress to Traefik, including full ownership of routing, SSL/TLS, and middleware configuration. - Experience supporting Informatica PowerCenter/IICS in live environments. - Strong incident leadership, root cause analysis, and system stabilization skills. - Excellent client-facing communication and technical documentation abilities.
