DMC Recruitment is partnering with an industry-leading manufacturer to find a Technical Sales & Project Specialist for Western Canada to support continued growth across the region.
This is a rare opportunity to build a career in a critical and rapidly expanding niche of technical infrastructure, working on complex, large-scale projects where technical knowledge, relationship management, and project execution all play a key role.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to become a trusted expert and resource within the market, influence projects from early design stages through completion, and work with some of the most important stakeholders in the construction and project development ecosystem.
Position Summary

The Technical Sales & Project Specialist is responsible for supporting business growth across Western Canada through a combination of technical sales, business development, customer engagement, project management, and project execution.
This role works directly with owners, developers, consultants, architects, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, operators, dealers, and channel partners to identify opportunities, support project pursuits, influence specifications, manage customer relationships, and oversee projects from award through completion.
Success in this role requires developing strong relationships with all project influencers. The ideal candidate will understand who impacts a project decision, build meaningful connections early, and maintain consistent engagement and touchpoints throughout long and complex project cycles.
This is a relationship-driven, technical role suited to and individual who understands construction and project execution, enjoys working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments, and can connect technical solutions with customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Technical Sales
  • Develop and maintain relationships with owners, developers, consultants, contractors, dealers, and key industry stakeholders throughout Western Canada.
  • Identify and pursue relevant opportunities and their connected partners.
  • Build relationships with project influencers throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Map project stakeholders and maintain engagement with key decision-makers including owners, developers, consultants, general contractors, and installation partners.
  • Conduct customer meetings, site visits, lunch-and-learns, technical presentations, and project reviews.
  • Support specification development and early-stage project engagement.
  • Work with architects, engineers, and specifiers to secure projects and influence product selection before construction begins.
  • Maintain and grow a strong project pipeline of ongoing sales opportunity through active market development.
  • Provide market intelligence, competitive insights, and customer feedback to support business growth.
  • Collaborate with estimating, engineering, bids/pricing, and other internal teams to develop project solutions and quotations.
  • Support dealer and channel partner development throughout Western Canada.

Project Management & Execution
  • Manage projects from award through completion.
  • Coordinate project schedules, deliverables, timelines, and customer expectations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers throughout project execution.
  • Work closely with operations, engineering, supply chain, finance, installation teams, and project partners to ensure successful delivery.
  • Monitor project milestones, budgets, risks, and timelines.
  • Support project kick-off meetings, progress reviews, and project close-out activities.
  • Resolve project challenges proactively while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure projects meet quality, safety, code, and operational requirements.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-moving environment.

Customer & Stakeholder Management
  • Build long-term customer relationships through responsive communication and execution excellence.
  • Coordinate activities between customers, contractors, consultants, and internal teams.
  • Provide regular project updates and status reporting.
  • Support customer issue resolution and post-project follow-up activities.
  • Represent the company at industry events, customer meetings, and regional networking opportunities.
  • Travel throughout Western Canada regularly as required. Occasional travel to other HQ and corporate office locations and to attend networking and tradeshows across North America.

You're Probably a Great Fit If You Have
  • 5+ years of experience in technical sales, project management, construction products, building materials, or related experience.
  • Experience managing customer relationships and construction-related projects.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction processes and project delivery.
  • Experience working with architects, consultants, engineers, specifiers, general contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Experience with specification-driven construction products or architectural specification sales is considered an asset.
  • Experience selling or supporting specialty technical building products.
  • Strong ability to understand technical solutions and communicate value beyond simply presenting product features.
  • Experience coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational, time management, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment.

Technical / Industry Experience Considered an Asset
Candidates with backgrounds in construction, fabrication, or engineered building solutions are encouraged to apply.

A strong understanding of how construction projects move from design, estimating, engineering, procurement, and installation is a significant asset.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • PMP designation considered an asset.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn new products, technologies, and industry terminology.
  • Comfortable working with complex projects and multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage long-term project cycles while maintaining strong customer engagement.
  • Organized, proactive, and willing to identify and open new doors and relationships.
