Job description

The Fordy Group has partnered with a leading employee-owned commercial interiors contractor to appoint an experienced Project Manager for their growing Seattle team.

Our client is a highly respected commercial construction firm with a strong presence across the West Coast and Midwest, specializing in workplace, tenant improvement, corporate interiors, life sciences, healthcare, hospitality, and specialty commercial projects. Known for their collaborative culture, entrepreneurial environment, and commitment to project excellence, they deliver innovative interior construction solutions for some of the region's most prominent clients.

This opportunity is ideal for a Project Manager with strong Tenant Improvement (TI) experience who is looking to take ownership of projects, develop client relationships, and play a key role in business growth while leading high-performing project teams.

The Opportunity

As a Project Manager, you will oversee the full lifecycle of commercial interior construction and tenant improvement projects, from preconstruction through closeout. You will manage project profitability, client satisfaction, scheduling, procurement, subcontractor relationships, and team development.

This is a highly autonomous role where success is rewarded, and where Project Managers are empowered to directly influence project outcomes while building long-term relationships throughout Seattle's commercial real estate and construction community.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout project delivery.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, brokers, property managers, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Lead pricing exercises, value engineering efforts, building assessments, and site investigations.
  • Develop site logistics plans and project execution strategies.
  • Create and manage detailed project schedules in collaboration with field leadership and Superintendents.
  • Oversee procurement, cost control, forecasting, and change management processes.
  • Lead weekly project meetings with clients, consultants, and trade partners.
  • Manage project accounting, financial reporting, cash flow forecasting, and accounts receivable collection.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Oversee punch list completion and project closeout activities.
  • Build, mentor, and develop Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Project Coordinators.
  • Represent the company at networking events, industry functions, and business development activities.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of commercial construction project management experience, with a strong preference for experience delivering Tenant Improvement (TI), workplace, office, and commercial interiors projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing medium to large-scale commercial construction projects concurrently.
  • Experience supervising and mentoring project teams, including field and office personnel.
  • Strong understanding of construction estimating, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and contract administration.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships while supporting business development efforts.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Proficiency with:
  • Procore
  • Bluebeam
  • Microsoft Project
  • Timberline/Sage
  • PlanGrid
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written, verbal, negotiation, and leadership skills.
