Inflammation And Immunity information

What is an inflammation and immunity specialist?

Inflammation and immunity specialists are medical professionals or researchers who focus on understanding, diagnosing, and treating diseases related to the immune system and inflammatory processes. These specialists study how the body’s immune system responds to infections, injuries, and autoimmune conditions, as well as how chronic inflammation can lead to diseases such as arthritis, allergies, or even cancer. They may work in clinical settings, laboratories, or academic institutions, conducting research or providing patient care. Their work is crucial for developing new therapies and advancing our understanding of immune-related diseases.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in inflammation and immunity research roles?

Professionals in Inflammation and Immunity research often encounter challenges such as staying current with rapidly evolving scientific literature, designing experiments that accurately model complex immune responses, and managing large datasets from advanced technologies like flow cytometry or genomics. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams is essential, as projects often involve immunologists, clinicians, and data scientists. Additionally, translating laboratory findings into clinically relevant therapies requires persistence and adaptability to regulatory and ethical considerations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an inflammation and immunity research scientist, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Inflammation and Immunity Research Scientist, you need a strong background in immunology, molecular biology, and experimental design, typically supported by an advanced degree such as a PhD in a related field. Familiarity with laboratory techniques like flow cytometry, ELISA, and PCR, as well as data analysis software, is crucial. Critical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication are essential soft skills for interpreting results and collaborating on multidisciplinary teams. These skills ensure rigorous research, innovation, and effective translation of findings into clinical or therapeutic advancements.

What is the difference between Inflammation And Immunity vs Medical Laboratory Technician?

Job description

Triveni Bio is breaking new ground in the identification of novel disease targets – working at the convergence of human genetics, best-in-class antibody design, and precision medicine. We are pioneering a Mendelian genetics-informed precision medicine approach to develop functional antibodies for the treatment of immunological and inflammatory (I&I) disorders. Our lead antibody program (TRIV-509) targets kallikreins 5 and 7 (KLK5/7) to directly impact skin barrier function, inflammation, and itch – providing a meaningful and much needed potential treatment option for patients with atopic dermatitis and other barrier disorders. In all the work we do, we adhere to our core values: patient impact, bold and rigorous science, open collaboration, kindness & respect.

SUMMARY

Triveni Bio is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Scientist to join our Biology and Translational Research team. In this role, you will lead image-based biomarker analyses and drive the experimental design and execution of cell-based and ex vivo preclinical models. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the scientific biomarker strategy across multiple indications, advancing therapeutics that target novel disease pathways. If you are passionate about therapeutic discovery and possess extensive expertise in image analysis, we want to hear from you.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead image-based biomarker analyses using HALO to support biomarker analyses.
  • Design and execute experimental cell-based and ex vivo preclinical models.
  • Oversee external research activities to meet timelines, deliverables, and data quality with Contract Research Organizations (CROs) or academic collaborators.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ph.D. in molecular biology or a related discipline with 5+ years of experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors.
  • Extensive, hands-on expertise in image analysis utilizing HALO.
  • Solid background in Immunology and Inflammation indications, with a strong preference for specific experience in atopic dermatitis.
  • Familiarity or expertise in mechanistic cell-based and cell-free assays to investigate type 2 immunity, including immune cells, mast cells, IgE biology, cytokine modulation, and other relevant pharmacodynamic readouts.
  • Proven track record of effectively managing Contract Research Organizations (CROs), external vendors, and academic collaborators.
