Job description

About Us

Infinitum Electric is taking a clean-sheet approach to the most underappreciated piece of nearly every machine on the planet: the electric motor. Our patented air-core motor - built on a printed circuit board (PCB) stator - is half the weight, half the size, and uses two-thirds the materials of a traditional motor while delivering the same output, higher efficiency, and quieter operation. Headquartered in Round Rock, TX, we are scaling rapidly to electrify the next generation of HVAC, industrial, and mobility applications.

The Role

We are hiring a Human Resources Operations Specialist to own the day-to-day people operations engine at Infinitum. This is a full-time, on-site role at our Austin, TX office. We are unable to sponsor visas. Compensation: up to $80,000 USD base, plus stock options and benefits. You will be the go-to person for payroll accuracy, HRIS integrity, employee documents, and onboarding - the connective tissue between our people, finance, and IT teams.

Responsibilities

  • Run end-to-end multi-state payroll on a bi-weekly cadence (timecards, deductions, taxes, garnishments, off-cycle runs) and partner with Finance on GL postings and reconciliations.
  • Own the HRIS as the system of record - data hygiene, org changes, integrations to payroll/benefits/IT, audits, and reporting.
  • Maintain pay core configuration: pay groups, pay codes, earnings/deduction setup, GL mappings, and state/local tax setup as we add new locations.
  • Own employee document management - offer letters, I-9/E-Verify, policy acknowledgments, leave paperwork, separation packets - with strong file hygiene and retention controls.
  • Run onboarding end-to-end: pre-boarding tasks, Day 1 setup with IT and Facilities, new-hire orientation, 30-day check-ins, and feedback loops.
  • Be the first line of support for employee questions on pay, benefits, time off, and HR policy; escalate cleanly when needed.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in HR Operations, People Ops, or Payroll, ideally in a high-growth or manufacturing/hardware environment.
  • Hands-on experience running multi-state payroll on a modern platform (Paylocity, ADP, Gusto, UKG, Workday, or similar).
  • Working knowledge of US labor and pay regulations (FLSA, FMLA, ACA, multi-state tax) and basic benefits administration.
  • Strong HRIS skills - comfortable building reports, auditing data, and managing integrations (HRIS to payroll/benefits/IT).
  • Excellent Excel/Google Sheets fluency for ad-hoc people analysis (vlookups, pivots, cleanup).
  • High attention to detail, discretion with confidential data, and a service mindset for employees.
  • FPC, CPP, aPHR, PHR, or SHRM-CP certification is a plus, not required.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary with stock option grant
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • Short-Term & Long-Term Disability Coverage - company paid
  • Life Insurance - company paid
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan with company match
  • Paid Time Off and Paid Holidays
  • Parental Leave
  • Company Paid Lunch once a week
  • Employee Referral Bonus Program
  • A mission-driven team building category-defining motor technology
