The Laundry Specialist at Aramark SeniorLIFE+ is responsible for the collection, washing, drying, folding, and distribution of linens, resident clothing, and facility laundry while maintaining high standards of infection control and quality assurance. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to proper laundry procedures, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and service-driven team member who takes pride in cleanliness and organization to support the health, comfort, and dignity of our senior residents.
Shift is 7a-5p with weekends
Job Responsibilities
Laundry Operations & Processing
• Collect, sort, and process linens, resident clothing, and facility laundry per infection control and sanitation guidelines.
• Operate industrial laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, flatwork ironers, and folding machines.
• Monitor and maintain proper wash and dry cycles to ensure cleanliness and infection control compliance.
• Inspect linens and garments for damage, stains, or wear, reporting issues to the supervisor.
• Process specialty items such as blankets, delicate fabrics, and personal clothing.
Quality Control & Linen Management
• Ensure all linens meet quality standards before distribution to residents and facility departments.
• Properly fold, store, and organize linens and personal clothing in designated areas.
• Label and track resident clothing to ensure items are returned correctly.
• Assist in maintaining linen inventory levels and report supply shortages.
Infection Control & Safety Compliance
• Follow PPE protocols, including gloves, masks, and protective equipment when handling soiled laundry.
• Properly handle and separate biohazardous or contaminated laundry per facility protocols.
• Disinfect laundry carts, bins, and workstations regularly to maintain sanitation standards.
• Adhere to OSHA guidelines and facility protocols for infection control and chemical safety.
Facility & Resident Support
• Interact professionally and respectfully with residents, handling laundry with care and dignity.
• Assist residents with personal laundry needs, ensuring proper handling of garments.
• Deliver clean laundry and linens to designated areas in an organized and timely manner.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laundry room for efficiency and accessibility.
Additional Duties
• Assist with deep cleaning of laundry machines, lint traps, and supply areas.
• Load and unload linen transport carts, ensuring proper labeling and organization.
• Complete training in infection control, equipment safety, and chemical handling.
Perform other duties as assigned to support EVS and facility operations.
Qualifications
Experience & Skills
• 1+ years of laundry services experience, preferably in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality.
• Knowledge of laundry processes, stain removal techniques, and fabric care.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle resident clothing with care and accuracy.
Certifications & Compliance
• Completion of PPE, infection control, and chemical safety training.
• Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and safety protocols for laundry operations (preferred).
Availability & Scheduling
• Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.
• Willingness to adjust schedule based on facility and resident needs.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and high-quality results.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lifting to 50 lbs., and perform repetitive tasks such as bending, pushing, and pulling.
Must wear appropriate PPE and adhere to all safety procedures.
