Job description

Help expand The Infatuation’s domestic and international coverage with guides that are useful, entertaining, and unmistakably in our voice. You will lead editorial planning, manage freelance contributors, and grow reach across channels.

As a Senior Editor, Expansion in The Infatuation, you develop restaurant guides from start to finish and manage a network of freelance contributors to uncover the best places to eat around the world. You balance utility and entertainment, edit for a strong voice, and experiment to reach new audiences across channels. You partner with internal teams to identify growth opportunities and evolve coverage over time.

Job responsibilities
  • Set and oversee an editorial calendar for restaurant guides to select domestic and international cities, and see these guides through from start to finish
  • Source, vet, and maintain a diverse network of credible freelance writers; actively assign out new guides, taking time to walk each new writer through our voice and style
  • Lead ideation around seasonal content packages and ensure we’re covering the right destinations at the right time and in a way that’s authentic to our brand
  • Lead content promotion and distribution strategy across organic and paid channels
  • Occasionally travel to meet with writers and build knowledge of local restaurant scenes
  • Write guides and restaurant reviews as needed to support your select domestic and international cities, including the city you live in
  • Use our SEO resources to identify areas of opportunity and growth within our coverage
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • 5+ years of editing experience, with an existing network of freelance writers that cover food, dining, and travel
  • Deep and diverse knowledge of the best restaurants around the world, from food carts to fine dining, with ideas for how to cover them in smart, entertaining ways
  • Experience at a restaurant or travel publication, or experience covering those topics
  • An informed and inclusive perspective on the most exciting food cities—you’re the person who’s always asked for recommendations on where to go, what to eat, and what to do
  • You're personally interested in and passionate about travel, and plan your trips around restaurants and bars

Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the US. We are not able to provide immigration sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time. Final job grade level and corporate title will be determined at time of offer and may differ from this posting.
