Job Description
Summary:
Yorktown Systems Group is seeking a highly qualified Air Operations Planning Analyst to support the U.S. Army's Maneuver Center of Excellence (MCoE) G-3 mission at Fort Benning, GA. The G-3 organization encompasses multi-functional services, with numerous locations across Fort Benning. Critical G-3 functions include:
  • Management: Installation Training Management/Centralized Taskings
  • Planning and scheduling: Air Operations; Ceremonies and special events; Staff Inspection Program; Long Range Planning Calendar and the Digital Training Management System.
  • Other Support: Strategic Analysis

Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Shall coordinate all requests for equipment, communications, and special equipment required by United States Infantry and Armor Schools 'programs of instruction and related support for parachute operations and rotary winged operations. Ensuring all requests are processed within 48 hours of receipt.
  • Shall draft, staff, and upon approval by the Chief, G3 Training Division finalize memorandum of instruction for Joint Airborne/Air Transportability Training (JA/ATT) conducted at the MCoE schools and units. Memorandum will be composed of accurate information, in accordance with AR 25-50, and posted within 48 hours of approval by G3 Training Division Chief.
  • Shall process all requests for resources and exception to policies for all MCoE schools and units for approval by the G3 or designated representative. Track all requests for air support and post to SharePoint as required for unit visibility.
  • Shall coordinate with Army staff sections to provide resources for the MCoE G3 to meet unanticipated and rapid turnaround requirements and missions pertaining to airborne operations.
  • Shall prepare correspondence, reports, surveys, charts, graphs, and tables from rough drafts into final form or intermediate draft, in varying electronic media formats (Excel, Power Point, Word, and Publisher). This includes memoranda, reports, letters, directives, technical papers, forms and other tabular narrative correspondence pertaining to JA/ATT conduct and obtaining resources. All such documents shall be submitted to the COR for review and approval. All correspondence will be composed of accurate information, and in accordance with AR 25-50 and TR 1-11. No more than 2 rewrites allowed before signature.
  • Shall perform duties as the MCoE, G-3 Joint Air Logistics Information System (JALIS) scheduler for the MCoE, Infantry, and Armor senior officer military air transportation.
  • Shall track and maintain flight hour availability, reconcile requests between POI support and non-POI support. Maintain a record of flight hours and available funding on SharePoint (access required side). Balance hours and funding when applicable (i.e. reimbursement for flight time).

Job Requirements
Required Qualifications:
  • Possess specialized skills, knowledge, and abilities required for Air Operations Planning tasks.
  • Experience in all facets of Army air operations.
  • Experience in military correspondence, basic file management ability and organizing skills.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Strong communications skills (oral and written), ability to work cooperatively with military / civilian workforce.
  • Working knowledge / understanding of military protocol / chain of command.
  • Former Senior NCO or Officer with relevant air operations planning experience similar to the duties outlined for this position is preferred.
