Responsibilities & Qualifications

Novelis Oswego has an exciting opportunity for an Operations Leader to join one of our Manuacturing Units. This position reports to the Manufacturing Unit Manager and is responsible for the supervision and coordination of Operations employees as well as Coordinators and Specialists.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Our Safety Culture, implement the EHS management system and ensure continual improvement of EHS performance in day-to-day operations. This includes compliance to all Health, Safety and Environmental Policies
  • Lead personnel and equipment in the Operations area to meet production objective at the highest quality and service at the lowest possible cost
  • Continuously Learn and Develop an ongoing knowledge of manufacturing processes, operations and quality standards to help ensure the utilization of the best production methods and meeting of quality specifications
  • Lead and contribute to the development of process and product improvements, new processes and new products and lead in cost reduction efficiency improvements, sales increases and improved customer satisfaction
  • Oversee all operational activities and housekeeping efforts in the manufacturing unit to ensure employee and equipment safety
  • Adhere to and support company quality, environmental, health & safety, and certification standards, including ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, IATF 16949:2016, and ASI Certifications, where applicable.
  • Ensure training and development of all operating personnel in order to meet TS16949 standards
    • Ensure these skills are evaluated at appropriate intervals and developmental plan(s) established

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree is required
  • Extensive experience in managing/supervising others in a complex and fast paced environment with demonstrated results, preferably manufacturing based
  • Demonstrated success as a Coordinator/Specialist will be given high consideration
  • Experience in implementing the business plan
  • Understanding the cost and budgetary processes, inventory control procedures and methods, as well as operational procedures

This role's salary starts from $129,700 per year. Individual pay will vary based on qualifications, experience, and performance. In addition to base salary, this position includes participation in a short-term incentive plan (Annual Incentive Plan - AIP or Plant Performance incentive - PPI).
