People First Employment is seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Assistant for a 4-month project assignment in the City of Industry. We are looking for a hands-on candidate who has previous experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, production, or warehouse maintenance environment and is comfortable working safely around operating machinery, equipment, and industrial vehicle traffic. This position is ideal for someone with experience supporting industrial maintenance, facility projects, equipment installation, warehouse setup, or similar hands-on operations.



Position: Industrial Maintenance Assistant

Location: City of Industry, CA

Pay rate starting at: $24.00/hr+

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:00 PM

Responsibilities

  • Assist with industrial maintenance and facility improvement projects.
  • Move and relocate industrial fixtures and equipment, including shelving, cabinets, workbenches, furniture, and related equipment.
  • Assemble and install warehouse racking and shelving systems.
  • Assemble and install new furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Relocate product inventory, materials, and equipment throughout the facility.
  • Perform general building upkeep and facility maintenance.
  • Assist with basic repairs and maintenance projects.
  • Safely use hand and power tools, including drills, saws, hammers, wrenches, and other common maintenance tools.
  • Work safely in areas where forklifts, industrial vehicles, production machinery, and other powered equipment may be operating.
  • Maintain awareness of surrounding equipment and vehicle traffic while completing assigned work.
  • Follow established facility and industrial safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Work independently and as part of a maintenance/project team.


Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, production, warehouse, or similar environment with machinery and industrial vehicle traffic.
  • Must be comfortable and confident working around operating machinery, forklifts, and other industrial equipment.
  • Previous hands-on maintenance, facilities, installation, mechanical, or industrial project experience preferred.
  • Proficient with common hand and power tools.
  • Ability to safely lift 50+ lbs independently.
  • Ability to safely team-lift and handle items weighing up to 100+ lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, push, pull, and perform physical work throughout the shift.
  • Strong safety awareness and ability to recognize potential hazards in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and maintain focus while working independently.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Professional attitude and presentation.


Ideal Experience

Candidates with previous experience as an Industrial Maintenance Helper, Maintenance Assistant, Facilities Maintenance Assistant, Maintenance Technician Helper, Manufacturing Maintenance Helper, Equipment Installer, or Warehouse Maintenance Associate are strongly encouraged to apply.
