Position: Maintenance Lead Hand
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Location: Markham, ON
Job Scope

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of all plant equipment and infrastructure. The role also involves leading and supporting the maintenance team with a strong focus on continuous process improvement and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities

  •  Troubleshoot and repair plant equipment, including electromechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. 
  •  Read diagrams and technical drawings to determine work procedures. 
  •  Install, align, and dismantle industrial machinery and mechanical equipment such as pumps, fans, sensors, and motors. 
  •  Ensure standard maintenance processes are followed, including coolant quality control, check valve monitoring, and black line water changes. 
  •  Clean, lubricate, and perform preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment. 
  •  Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow up on assigned tasks to ensure timely completion. 
  •  Respond to equipment breakdowns using the maintenance request system, assign personnel, recommend replacement parts, and coordinate repairs. 
  •  Collaborate with plant management to plan and execute long-term maintenance projects, including task planning, scheduling, milestone tracking, and budget management. 
  •  Ensure preventive maintenance (PM) program tasks are completed and properly documented. 
  •  Update and improve the PM program in coordination with plant management, including operator PM procedures. 
Required Skills & Qualifications

  •  Graduate of an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic or Millwright program, or equivalent hands-on experience. 
  •  Knowledge of CNC machinery and equipment. 
  •  Basic knowledge of PLC controls is considered an asset. 
  •  Welding experience with gas, electrode, and MIG welding is an asset. 
  •  Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
