Job description

Job Description We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Superintendent to lead maintenance operations within a high-volume manufacturing facility. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for supervising maintenance personnel, driving equipment reliability, improving preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring safe, efficient plant operations. The ideal candidate is an energetic leader with strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and experience managing maintenance teams in a fast-paced industrial environment.  Key Responsibilities   Lead and supervise maintenance personnel directly and through front-line supervisors. Plan, organize, and prioritize maintenance activities to support production objectives. Develop work plans, assign maintenance tasks, and establish effective maintenance methods and procedures. Oversee the repair and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, structural, and facility equipment. Assist with equipment installations, plant modifications, and facility improvement projects. Develop equipment layouts and support capital project implementation. Prepare estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and maintenance-related projects. Review completed work orders and ensure timely completion of maintenance activities. Manage and continuously improve the preventive maintenance program utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Analyze equipment downtime and maintenance history to identify recurring issues and implement long-term corrective actions. Drive equipment reliability initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce unplanned downtime. Ensure maintenance activities comply with all food safety, quality, regulatory, and workplace safety standards. Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, productivity, and cost reduction. Coach, develop, and mentor maintenance team members while promoting accountability and high performance. Partner with Production, Engineering, Quality, and other departments to support operational goals. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field preferred. 3–5 years of maintenance leadership experience within a manufacturing environment. Experience managing preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Working knowledge of CMMS systems. Experience with equipment layout, drafting, project management, ergonomic design, industrial engineering principles, and CAD is preferred. Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and leadership skills. Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities. Experience in food manufacturing or other regulated manufacturing environments is preferred. Preferred Experience Leading maintenance teams in a high-speed manufacturing operation. Driving equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives. Managing capital improvements and equipment installation projects. Working within quality and regulatory compliance environments.
