Industrial Engineer

Summary:

To provide process improvements, set work standards, evaluate operational costs, validate capital expenditures, document operational procedures, determine the most economical process flows, and perform project management functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish operational methods and work standards using various work measurement techniques
  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend changes or improvements in operational processes, procedures, and equipment and to provide analysis to support these changes
  • Perform cost studies, economic comparisons, and justification analysis
  • Optimize use of floor space, materials, personnel, and equipment
  • Support operations teams to improve efficiencies and resolve issues
  • Play a key role in the implementation of new processes, equipment, and products
  • Initiate, plan, execute, and control strategic projects to accomplish strategic goals
  • Maintain site drawings used for site design improvements and operation flow mapping
  • Lead delivery of assigned initiatives under the global service center strategy, executing to the direction, priorities, and standards set by the Director, Service Centre Excellence
  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or manufacturing
  • 2-5 years practical experience working in automated manufacturing environments
  • Working knowledge of CAD software or comparable software dealing with layouts and process flow mapping
  • Experience in a manufacturing/operations environment
  • Strong lean manufacturing experience
  • Substantial experience in automated productions
  • Substantial experience in supplier management/equipment design and compliance to specification
  • Working knowledge of FMS

Skills & Knowledge

  • Product costing knowledge and ability to identify opportunities for cost reduction
  • Experience with cross-functional collaboration and management
  • Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of quality and business systems

  • Planning and prioritizing activities
