Job description

We are seeking a Technical Customer Service Representative for an onsite opportunity with a manufacturing company. This position supports customers by reviewing technical product information, specifications, pricing, and order details while preparing quotes and providing exceptional customer service.

The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, basic Microsoft Excel experience, and the ability to understand and communicate technical product information.

A degree in Industrial Distribution is strongly preferred. Candidates with a degree in Industrial Distribution or a related technical field, including recent college graduates, are encouraged to apply. Candidates with a mechanical, manufacturing, engineering, industrial, or other technical background will also be considered.

Experience with Epicor ERP or a similar ERP system is a plus but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Serve as the primary point of contact for customers by phone and email regarding technical products, pricing, orders, and product availability.

·        Review customer requests, product specifications, technical data, drawings, and application requirements to recommend appropriate solutions.

·        Prepare and process quotes, estimates, bids, order entry, and customer follow-up.

·        Enter and maintain accurate customer, quote, order, and project information within the ERP/CRM system, including Epicor when applicable.

·        Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Production, Product Management, and Purchasing to provide accurate product information and resolve customer inquiries.

·        Interpret technical product information and communicate specifications clearly to customers.

·        Maintain organized customer records, quote activity, project updates, and documentation.

·        Follow up on pending quotes, order status, product availability, and customer requests.

·        Assist in resolving customer concerns by coordinating with internal departments to provide timely solutions.

·        Manage multiple customer inquiries, projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements:

·        Degree in Industrial Distribution is strongly preferred.

·        Degrees in Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Mechanical Technology, or other related technical fields will also be considered.

·        Recent college graduates with an Industrial Distribution or related technical degree are encouraged to apply.

·        Previous customer service, technical customer service, sales support, or order entry experience is preferred.

·        Mechanical, manufacturing, industrial, engineering, construction, or other technical aptitudes are strongly preferred.

·        Basic Microsoft Excel experience required.

·        Experience with Epicor ERP or similar ERP software is a plus.

·        Experience reviewing technical specifications, quotes, bids, estimates, product information, or engineering drawings is a plus.

·        Excellent communication and organizational skills.
