We have an immediate opening for a self-motivated, energetic Senior Project Engineer/Project Supervisor to join our team in Northwest or Northern Indiana.

The qualified applicant will provide Construction Inspection experience for LPA and INDOT projects and will be an organized individual who is ready to lead an immediate large INDOT project.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Familiar with company, client, government and industry standards.
  • Follows verbal and written instructions
  • Observes and monitors construction for compliance with contract documents and approved shop drawings/material submittals.
  • Records field observations and determines acceptability of construction work performed.
  • Monitors contractor's quality control and verifies construction conforms to contractor's quality control plan.
  • Makes field measurements, computations and records of acceptable work.
  • Prepares reports outlining the work performed and the quality of completed and acceptable for payment. Calculates the quantity of acceptable completed work for payment.
  • Reviews and verifies contractor's payment applications, proposals, and change order requests.
  • Coordinates construction activities with owner and assists Project Manager with client on construction related issues.
  • Prepares and maintains project records in accordance with the company's, client's, and government's standards.
  • Coordinates or conducts quality assurance testing, inspections and surveys.
  • Other related duties, as assigned.

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE:
  • High School Diploma required
  • INDOT certified technician, or Construction/Civil Engineering degree required.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 10+ years of direct experience managing INDOT and INDOT LPA projects
  • INDOT and INDOT LPA experience within the LaPorte District preferred
  • Ability to read and comprehend construction documents.
  • Understands and follows company standards, demonstrates knowledge of construction techniques, and assists mid to senior level team members with complex projects.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong mathematics skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Valid Driver's License with acceptable record
