Job description

We are building a kitchen team for our organization and looking for experienced line cooks. These individuals will be responsible for preparing and cooking food according to the chef’s specifications.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • At least 1-year professional experience
  • Food Handlers Permit
  • Basic cooking techniques, knowledge of different cooking methods.
  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation.
  • Strong organization and active listening skills.
  • Excellent kitchen administration knowledge and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work quickly under pressure.
  • Proficiency in using various kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked work area.
  • Completion of vocational school or a two-year associate degree is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare food using recipes and menu items created by the Executive Chef.
  • Operate various cooking equipment to prepare menu items according to established standards.
  • Ensure the station is properly stocked with necessary supplies and ingredients before, during service.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Ensure the food is cooked to the correct specifications and served at the appropriate temperature.
  • Work closely with other cooks and kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient meal preparation and service.
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Accurately follow recipes, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines provided by the chef.
  • Assist in washing and cleaning the kitchen, cooking utensils, and storing equipment at the end of shifts.
  • Other duties assigned as needed

This position is subject to Native American/Alaskan Native preference. Indian Preference applies in accordance with P.L. and other applicable laws. Applicants claiming Indian Preference must submit documentation of enrollment in a federally recognized tribe.

Physical Requirements 

To comply with the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 the essential physical, mental, and environmental requirements. Candidate must be able to successfully perform all functions of their job with minimal supervision.
