Job description

URGENT NEED - Union City
Location: This position serves clients throughout Alameda County. The role is not limited to San Leandro or Union City only.
Schedule: Flexible, Day Schedule - must be able to complete hours between 8:30am and 6pm.

We're looking for compassionate, reliable, and motivated individuals who want to make a real difference. As an Independent Living Instructor, you'll work one-on-one with clients in their homes and communities-helping them master essential life skills like personal care, health maintenance, social engagement, money management, and more.
What You'll Do:
โ€ข Build strong, respectful relationships with clients
โ€ข Teach everyday life skills with patience, care, and cultural sensitivity
โ€ข Support clients with appointments, social events, errands, and community access - including providing transportation when needed
โ€ข Champion independence, empowerment, and self-advocacy
โ€ข Keep clear, timely records and collaborate with a supportive team
โ€ข Be part of a mission that truly matters
What You Bring:
โ€ข A heart for service and a passion for helping others grow
โ€ข At least 6 months of experience in human services or supporting people with disabilities
โ€ข Strong communication and organization skills
โ€ข Fluency in English or Spanish (bilingual preferred)
โ€ข High school diploma or GED
Must Haves:
โ€ข Valid CA driver's license, reliable & insured vehicle, and clean driving record
โ€ข Willingness to drive clients to medical appointments, social outings, and other essential activities
โ€ข Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid certification (if not already certified)
โ€ข Ability to pass a background check
