Job description

Description:

We’re looking for a programmer with solid foundational experience (3–5 years) who is eager to grow into an Identity & Access Management (IAM) engineering role, specifically focusing on SailPoint IdentityIQ. You will support build pipelines, application deployments, troubleshooting, and workflow automation within an enterprise IAM environment. Over time, you will assume responsibilities traditionally handled by a SailPoint developer.

Hybrid (3 Days a Week Onsite)

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

• Support and eventually own components of the IdentityIQ application stack, including:

o Java-based application deployment (Tomcat)

o Linux-based application servers

o SQL databases (querying, updates, DDL changes)

o Build and deployment automation (Ant, Git/Azure DevOps or similar)

o Secrets/token management (e.g., Secret Server or similar platforms)

• Troubleshoot identity provisioning, reconciliation issues, and workflow failures.

• Assist in building and maintaining IAM workflows such as onboarding, transfers, offboarding, and manager changes.

• Support role certifications, access reviews, and scheduled governance tasks.

• Patch and upgrade the identity platform (WAR/JAR packaging, DB scripts, patch utilities).

• Develop or update SOPs, runbooks, and configuration documentation.

• Collaborate with security, help desk, HR, and application teams to resolve identity-related issues.

Required Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on programming experience in Java, C#, or Python.

• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, debugging, and code analysis.

• Experience with:

o Linux (command line, logs, basic administration)

o SQL (queries, joins, schema understanding)

o Git-based version control and CI/CD workflows

• Familiarity with web application architectures and build/deployment pipelines.

• Understanding of core identity concepts (users, groups, roles, access control), even if not specific to SailPoint.

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have)

• Exposure to:

o Java web application packaging (WAR/JAR)

o REST APIs or scripting for automation

o Identity or security tools (SailPoint, Okta, Ping, CyberArk, etc.)

o Active Directory or other directory services

• Knowledge of enterprise IAM workflows (onboarding, certifications, provisioning).

• Experience writing or maintaining runbooks, playbooks, or SOPs.

Success Indicators (First 6 Months)

• Can run and troubleshoot the identity system’s build and deployment pipeline.

• Can apply patches/updates to a non production environment and validate health checks.

• Can diagnose basic provisioning failures and trace flows from request ? workflow ? directory.

• Can independently handle routine IAM tasks and contribute improvements to documentation.

Why This Role Is a Fit for the Right Candidate

This position is ideal for someone with strong programming foundations who wants to grow into an IAM/SailPoint engineer role. You’ll be trained on the platform’s deeper internals while already contributing to operations, automations, and enhancements from day one.
