Now Hiring: Full-Time Licensed Practical Nurse (1099 Independent Contractor)

Location: Must reside in the Columbia, SC area
Schedule: Approximately 40 hours per week
Work Arrangement: Services are primarily performed remotely, with travel required for scheduled member events throughout South Carolina.

PSyn, Inc. is a pharmacist-led managed care consulting firm dedicated to improving healthcare outcomes through innovative clinical services and member engagement. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a motivated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our high-performing remote team.
 
Position Overview
PSyn is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide services as a 1099 Independent Contractor for approximately 40 hours per week. This position supports member engagement, preventive health initiatives, and clinical intervention services through scheduled health planning events, in-home visits, and member outreach activities.
 
Responsibilities
Event-Based Clinical Services
Provide clinical services during scheduled member health planning events and in-home visits, including:
  • Blood pressure screenings
  • Osteoporosis screenings
  • Diabetic retinopathy screenings
  • Bone density screenings
  • Eye scans
  • Hemoglobin (HGB) testing
  • Hemoglobin A1C (A1C) testing
  • Clinical counseling based on screening results
  • Diabetes education and coaching related to HGB and A1C results
  • Clinical interventions focused on:
    • Diabetes
    • Hypertension
    • Cardiovascular disease
    • STAR quality measures
Clinical Intervention & Member Outreach
When not participating in scheduled events, responsibilities include:
  • Conducting outreach calls to assigned members
  • Providing health education, coaching, and follow-up support
  • Assisting members in improving chronic disease outcomes and STAR quality measures
  • Exercising independent clinical judgment to identify members requiring additional intervention or follow-up 
Equipment and Travel
PSyn will provide all equipment, supplies, and laboratory testing materials necessary to perform event-based clinical services and member outreach.
Member event locations vary throughout South Carolina. Candidates must have reliable transportation. Mileage will be reimbursed in accordance with company policy.
 
Qualifications
Required:
  • Active, unrestricted South Carolina Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication, and patient counseling skills
  • Ability to independently manage service commitments and complete assigned deliverables within established project timelines.
  • Basic computer proficiency and willingness to use Electronic Health Records (EHR)
 
Preferred:
  • Experience in chronic disease management
  • Experience performing point-of-care testing, including HGB and A1C 
Independent Contractor Status
This position is offered as a 1099 Independent Contractor engagement.
Contractors are responsible for:
  • Federal, state, and local tax obligations
  • Maintaining all required professional licensure
  • Maintaining professional liability insurance 
Additional information:
  • Contractors may provide services to other clients, provided there is no conflict of interest.
  • This engagement does not include employee benefits, workers' compensation coverage, or unemployment benefits.
  • Contractors maintain professional autonomy while fulfilling agreed-upon service expectations and adhering to applicable clinical standards. 
Service Commitment: 
Approximately 40 hours per week, subject to business needs. Contractors are engaged to complete assigned clinical services and member outreach activities within established project timelines.
Compensation
  • Starting at $35.00 per hour, based on experience
  • Approximately 40 hours per week
Payment terms will be outlined in the Independent Contractor Agreement
