Position Overview

State Street's Global Product organization is undergoing a period of significant transformation to enhance scalability, transparency, and commercial performance across the Alternatives business.

The RFP Writer / Presentation Designer is responsible for leading the end-to-end development of high-quality, Alternative competitive proposals as well as marketing materials that differentiate the organization in a demanding, fast-paced environment. This role combines writing excellence, project management discipline, creative communication, and technology enablement to deliver compelling, client-ready submissions. Strong knowledge of Alternative Investments and fund structures is critical. The ideal candidate will also play a key role in crafting visually compelling presentations, as well as ensuring the consistency and quality of document formatting across Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Pro. While production and formatting tasks are part of the role, emphasis is placed on innovative design and creative input.

Primary Responsibilities

As the Alternatives RFP Writer and Presentation Designer, you will

  • Own full lifecycle of RFP, RFI, and DDQ responses from intake through submission
  • Lead cross-functional coordination across Sales, Product, Technology, Legal, and Operations
  • Manage timelines, deliverables, and quality control to ensure on-time, accurate submissions
  • Drive response strategy, positioning, and differentiation aligned to client objectives
  • Develop clear, concise, and compelling proposal content tailored to client requirements
  • Translate complex business, technical, and investment concepts into client-facing narratives
  • Maintain and evolve content libraries, templates, and reusable materials
  • Enhance proposals through charts, diagrams, and structured visual storytelling
  • Integrate narrative and design to deliver polished, professional submissions
  • Ensure consistency in tone, branding, and formatting
  • Apply structured project management to manage multiple concurrent proposals
  • Design and execute PowerPoint pitch books and client presentations
  • Apply and update client templates to presentations with consistency and technical formatting
  • Create company branded and client charts, graphs, tables, icons and other infographics
  • Create fully functional client branded PowerPoint templates
  • Implementation of design principles; such as layout, alignment, color theory, typography, and visual hierarchy to create visually appealing and effective presentations
  • Perform photo re-touching and photo manipulation
  • Perform Logo creation, recreation or vectorization
  • Design or recreate highly detailed and complex maps (shale, oil, pipelines)
  • Design print collateral (invitations, signage, and banners)
  • Leverage AI tools and prompt engineering to accelerate drafting and enhance quality
  • Design automation workflows to improve efficiency, scalability, and content reuse

What we value (Skills & Capabilities)

These skills will help you succeed in this role

  • 5+ years of experience as a RFP Writer or similar capacity designing and editing financial documents, spreadsheets and presentations
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel (non-technical), and Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Proven experience in proposal management, RFP writing, or bid management
  • Experience with proposal platforms and content management tools
  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage complex initiatives
  • Exceptional writing and editing expertise (journalism or equivalent experience preferred)
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
  • Strong knowledge and experience designing infographics, financial charts, tables and graphs
  • Ability to work independently on a project or collaboratively as a team player and able to integrate with a diverse team with varying opinions and ideas
  • Ability to take ideas and think creatively to make professional, aesthetically pleasing layouts while maintaining company identity standards
  • Ability to work with a job ticketing system, work well under pressure and make quick sound decisions
  • Flexible and open to changing priorities and managing multiple tasks simultaneously within tight deadlines
  • Research skills - know the places to look and manage time spent efficiently
  • Strong aptitude to acclimatize and learn quickly

Job Requirements and Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Graphics, Business or related field

Salary Range:

$100,000 - $167,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
