An Independent Contractor Private HHA (Home Health Aide) is a caregiver who provides personal care, assistance with daily living activities, and basic health-related services to clients in their homes, but works independently rather than as an employee of an agency. This means they are responsible for finding their own clients, setting their rates, and handling their own taxes and business expenses. Independent contractor HHAs often enjoy greater flexibility in their schedules but must also manage all aspects of their business, including contracts and insurance.

Additionally, independent contractors are responsible for handling their own taxes, liability insurance, and professional development. To address these challenges, many HHAs join professional networks, use scheduling software, and stay informed about legal and regulatory requirements in their area.
