TITLE: HR & Accessibility Coordinator

Position Summary

The HR & Accessibility Coordinator is a hybrid role that combines core HR generalist coordination with ownership of the Museum’s accessibility compliance and volunteer/intern engagement functions. This position provides day-to-day support across recruiting, onboarding, employee records, and benefits administration, while also serving as the Museum’s ADA Coordinator — managing accommodation requests, accessibility compliance tracking, and staff training — and coordinating the volunteer and internship programs across both museum sites. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable with administrative HR process work and public-facing, relationship-driven program coordination.

Key ResponsibilitiesHR Coordination & Generalist Support

• Support full-cycle recruiting: posting open positions, scheduling interviews, coordinating candidate communication, and assisting with reference and background checks
• Coordinate new-hire onboarding, including I-9/W-4 paperwork, HRIS setup, and orientation logistics
• Maintain accurate, compliant employee records in the HRIS and process employee status changes
• Support benefits administration, including open enrollment logistics, employee benefits questions, and leave/PTO tracking
• Assist with payroll support functions such as timesheet review and PTO reconciliation
• Help maintain compliance with employment law postings, recordkeeping, and documentation (FMLA, EEO, ADA Title I)
• Serve as a first point of contact for general employee HR questions
• Prepare HR correspondence, templates, and routine reports
• Support offboarding processes, including exit logistics and records closeout

ADA & Accessibility Compliance

• Serve as the Museum’s designated ADA Coordinator across both sites
• Manage the accommodation request process from intake through resolution
• Maintain accessibility compliance documentation and support periodic accessibility audits
• Partner with Facilities, IT, and Learning & Engagement on accessibility remediation projects
• Deliver ADA and accessibility awareness training to staff and volunteers
• Track and report accessibility compliance metrics to HR leadership

Volunteer & Internship Program Management

• Recruit, screen, and onboard volunteers and interns
• Coordinate training, scheduling, and ongoing engagement for volunteer and intern programs
• Track volunteer and intern hours and program participation data
• Support recognition and retention efforts for program participants

Cross-Departmental Collaboration & Program Administration

• Partner regularly with Guest Services, Facilities, Learning & Engagement, and Community Outreach
• Support DEIA Committee initiatives and related programming as needed
• Maintain program calendars, records, and administrative reporting across both HR and accessibility functions

QualificationsQualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
• 1–3 years of HR generalist, HR coordinator, or related administrative experience
• Familiarity with ADA regulations and accommodation processes strongly preferred, or willingness to obtain ADA Coordinator training
• Experience working within an HRIS
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent programs and deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Comfort operating across both behind-the-scenes administrative HR work and public-facing, relationship-driven coordination
• Demonstrated commitment to accessibility, equity, and inclusion

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Regular travel between Mint Museum Uptown and Mint Museum Randolph
• Some evening and weekend availability for volunteer events, trainings, or accessibility walkthroughs
• Standard office environment with periodic walking/standing during site accessibility assessments
