Position Summary:

The Retail Associate supports both industry professionals and the general public in a cash-and-carry retail environment, offering expert assistance with high-quality kitchen equipment, supplies, and smallware's. 

Essential Responsibilities:

The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Greet and assist walk-in customers, providing knowledgeable service on commercial foodservice products. 
  • Guide customers through product selection based on their needs, whether for commercial kitchens, restaurants, bars, or home use. 
  • Operate the point-of sale (POS) system efficiently to complete transactions accurately. 
  • Answer inbound phone calls for catalog sales with the expectations of cross-selling additional items. 
  • Sourcing new sales opportunities through inbound leads, follow-up calls, and emails timely. 
  • Retain and emphasize product/service features and benefits, quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales order forms and/or reports. 
  • Restock shelves and maintain a clean, organized and professional showroom. 
  • Receive and unpack deliveries; assist in inventory management and cycle counts. 
  • Monitor and ensure product displaces are clean, current, and properly priced. 
  • Support wholesale and professional accounts with product inquiries and order pickups. 
  • Attend manufacturer trainings sessions to learn and expand on product knowledge. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time successfully.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of sales and customer service experience preferred
  • Culinary background helpful 
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft office products
  • Reliable transportation to and from Retail Store. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
