What You'll do

As a Logistics Analyst, you will be supporting the organization through detailed logistical analysis, reporting, and inbound transportation.

  • Lead negotiations with carriers to obtain competitive rates, mitigate price increases and ensure carrier capacity.
  • Monitor open orders for key suppliers to proactively plan carriers and assist in following up on late shipments.
  • Ensure the internal rate management system is kept current by timely entering negotiated rates.
  • Regularly perform logistics analysis to determine cost efficient routing and lowest cost carriers, utilizing carrier capacity, rates, and performance history.
  • Work with partners (internal and external) to coordinate solutions for daily transportation and logistics operational issues.
  • Serve as point of contact in assigned area as it relates to order entry, status questions, supplier issues or logistics challenges.
  • Perform various analysis such as cost comparison (prepaid versus collect program options), network optimization reports, etc.
  • Utilize inventory tools to determine the most optimal time and manner of shipping goods.
  • Works under general supervision. Position requires the exercise of independent judgement. 
  • Establish an open line of communication with Purchasing, Operations and Warehousing to discuss order status, logistics and operational challenges, market shifts, etc.
  • Partner with Rural King's private fleet to coordinate backhauls for their trucks
  • Route shipments through a PO Management system
  • Confirm deliveries are made on scheduled dates
  • Use discretion and independent judgment in daily decisions while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Actively participate in learning initiatives offered such as training programs, workshops, and webinars. Leverage these opportunities to acquire new knowledge, refine existing skills, and stay current on the latest developments.
  • Provide friendly, proactive, and professional internal and external support to others, assisting with inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly and effectively.

  • At least 2 years of logistics experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Comfortable navigating computer systems and software to assist customers or manage activities.

The pay range for this position is $44,000- $49,000 annualized and is bonus eligible. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as relevant geographic location, education, certifications, experience, job level, shift, and organizational needs.
