  • As a Scientific Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our engineering and chemistry professionals to optimize production and quality of printing and/or binding equipment. You will modify, maintain, and troubleshoot mechanisms, ensuring optimal operation of our press equipment through precise adjustments and maintenance practices. Your work will directly support projects requiring in-depth technical knowledge of printing processes, including the adjustment of variables such as temperature, pressure, and tension, based on theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Directly support engineering and chemistry professionals in the assessment and optimization of printing press setups for various projects.
  • Utilize theoretical knowledge and practical experience to identify and troubleshoot potential problems, including those related to artwork, material, and machine-based concerns.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of control mechanisms for input variables (e.g., supply, strength, cleanliness of paper, ink, etc.) and printing functions to ensure optimal ink and water balance.
  • Participate in and advise on the maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting of press operating equipment, including precise machined parts.
  • Initiate repairs and participate in scheduled maintenance, applying principles of engineering, chemistry, and continuous improvement methods to practical problems and research.
JOB INFORMATION
  • POSITIONS AVAILABLE: 10
  • JOB TYPE: FULL TIME
  • WAGE: - Entry salary starts at $20.00/hr if housing is provided; - Entry salary starts at $22.00/hr if housing is NOT provided;
  • IS THERE A SHIFT PREMIUM? There are no shift premiums. This job is for night shift work.
  • HOURS PER WEEK: 40+
  • OVER TIME: average of 3 hours a week
  • WORKWEEK: 12 hour shifts start from 6 pm to 6 am or 8 pm to 8 am. Training however will occur on daylight shifts
  • HOURS PER WEEK: 84 hours in a two week period. One week 36 hours, the other 48 hours of which 8 are paid at the OT rate. OVER TIME: Yes, besides the regular 8 every other week, They can expect another 16 hours every two weeks.
  • WORKWEEK: 12 hour shifts start from 6 pm to 6 am or 8 pm to 8 am. Training however will occur on daylight shifts - In a 14 day period they work 7 days. - One weekend is work every two weeks and one weekend is off every two weeks - This is a night shift position although training and other activities may occur on day shift.
  • CAN THEY WORK EXTRA DAYS?: Yes, 2 or 3 days
  • WILL THEY WORK WEEKENDS?: Yes, there is mandatory work every other weekend and extra work often available the other weekend. We do not pay a premium for working weekends, but of course if it overtime they get OT rate.
  • PAYMENT DAYS: Biweekly on Wednesday
  • PAYMENT TYPE: Check or direct deposit
  • BREAK TIMES: Employees are alloted 3 breaks during their shifts.

  • STANDARD EXPENSES THE COMPANY WILL BE PAYING/REIMBURSING FOR. A) Employee pays for expenses involved in the process and gets economically involved in the process; B) The employer reimburses this expenses after 9months that the worker has been providing his/her services.
  1. Airplane fee to arrive to the place of employment: Yes, will pay upfront.
  2. Consular Fee: Yes, employee pays and employer reimburses after 9 months after the start date. Fee is $185 USD at this point;
  3. Reciprocity fee: Yes, employee pays and employer reimburses after 9 months after the start date. Fee is $382 USD at this point.
  4. Other expenses: Employer will provide up to $300 USD reimbursement for all those other expenses such as hotel, bus, flight, meals, etc., that employee spends during the visa processing with Consulate/CBP. This will also bereimbursed after 9 months of start date, and employee must save and trun in the receipts.

NOTE: Reimbursement will only occur if Visa is approved.
