Hotel Jerome has been the social hub of Aspen since its opening in 1889 at the height of the town's silver boom, known as the place where all great stories were born and are told. As the only Aspen hotel to survive the silver crash, the long pre-ski-resort winters, and the Depression, we've seen cowboys ride through our doors, 10th Mountain Division soldiers gather round over pints after training on the slopes, and Hunter S. Thompson holding court during his run for sheriff. You can't experience Aspen, without experiencing Jerome.

The targeted compensation wage for this full time year round, non-exempt position is $12.14/hr plus tips. The position offers a competitive compensation package presented by Auberge Collection.

Job Description

As an In-Room Dining Server, you will be responsible for serving the needs of the business, our guests, and our colleagues by ensuring an outstanding and memorable in room dining experience for each guest.

  • Accurately and quickly take and place orders and input them into the POS system ensuring correct timing and billing.
  • Deliver requested items in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Relate with guests about needs, and satisfaction with the beverage and drinks, ensuring a consistently caring and high-quality service
  • Retrieve orders from the POS system and communicate any special requests or modifications to the kitchen. Maintain knowledge of all menu items.
  • Prepare the guest check accurately and collect payment or signature, as required
  • Operate, maintain, and properly clean all restaurant equipment and fittings
  • Ensure that the food delivery is tidy and keep an accurate par of food items such as beverages and snacks, as well as non-food items like menu cards, napkins, straws, etc. on cart and in storage areas.
  • Use safe food handling procedures and maintain a safe working environment by using proper skills and food safety guidelines
  • Clean and maintain in-room private/mini-bars; report damage, or malfunctioning units
  • Check quality and expiration of all items; discard and replace according to established procedures.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of one year experience in customer service or the foodservice/hospitality industry.
  • Must meet the minimum age requirements for food and alcohol service.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, according to department needs.
  • Ability to obtain relevant state and local government certifications, such as food handlers certificate or alcohol training certifications, as applicable to the position.
  • Ability to lift 30lbs
