Job description

JOB TITLE: Registered Nurse
DEPARTMENT: Emergency Department
REPORTS TO: Emergency Department Director
JOB SUMMARY
Provide rapid assessment, triage, and treatment of patients presenting with acute illness or trauma, including life-threatening conditions. Deliver safe, timely, and patient-centered nursing care in accordance with established standards, protocols, and policies. Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes while maintaining effective communication and professionalism. As with other health care professionals, the emergency nurse is expected to comply with the protocols, procedures and safety policies of Cody Regional Health.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Current Wyoming licensure as a Registered Nurse.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of one year emergency nursing experience or three to four years of clinical nursing in a medical or surgical unit or a combined medical/surgical unit, preferred. Experience in pediatrics, obstetrics and surgery is desirable.
SKILLS
  • Must possess a high degree of confidentiality in all matters with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with staff and public in a friendly, courteous and helpful manner.
  • Must have a good knowledge of emergency nursing, and a strong ability in performance of nursing procedures.
  • Knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control principles.
  • Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions
  • Able to perform effectively in highly stressful situations.
  • Must be well motivated, organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Effective computer and keyboarding skills.
  • Must have ability to learn and use Microsoft Office Suite products including Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to learn new computer software applications.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA) and TNCC are required once orientation is complete.
