GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Assure the quality of all entrusted products. Evaluate and determine best practices to improve quality processes while assuring safety, ISO 9001, AS9100 and other required standards are maintained during all operations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Reviews and reads drawings, specifications, and other technical documents to understand quality requirements of manufactured products.
  • Inspects product (cables, circuit cards, assemblies, fabricated parts, etc.) manufactured for compliance to industry standards, military specifications, and engineering drawings.
  • Utilizes microscopes, test equipment, and standard measuring equipment to perform inspections. May have to work with a microscope for long periods of time.
  • Works with Quality Engineers in the disposition of non-conforming material and in identification of defect trends in manufacturing processes.
  • Completes documentation of defects through data entry into company software platforms (TipQA experience is a plus).
  • Conduct and provide guidance on performing mechanical and electrical inspections
  • Construct files for maintenance of quality data
  • Conduct and document process audits
  • Assist in performing process and procedure analysis
  • Assist in implementing self-inspection program
  • Perform documentation duties with the use of a computer, maintaining a paperless manufacturing environment
  • Must be at assigned worksite during assigned hours 100% of time; less PTO, FML/STD/LTD

Other Job Functions
  • Recommend and use standard tools of the inspection trade, including but not limited to: pin gages, calipers, micrometers, meters magnification aids and other measurement devices
  • Read, interpret, and make recommended changes to purchase orders, drawings, parts lists, wire lists, and other related engineering documents
  • Provide, as needed, training to personnel in process techniques and methodologies
  • Work independently with little supervision
  • Other duties may be assigned

  • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as an inspector of electronic equipment and/or mechanical parts
  • Military/Defense quality environment experience
  • A minimum of 2 year experience with ANSI/J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620 production environments
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001, AS9100 and/or other quality standard environment

  • Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding and small hand tools)
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
