Job description

Summary:

The Quality Inspector ensures parts, materials, and processes are conforming to engineering, quality, health, safety, and other standards by performing inspections on manufactured items.

.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of parts and tooling throughout the manufacturing life cycle; From receiving raw material, in process inspection of detail components at various stages of completion, and final inspection.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and process/part specifications
  • Operate all necessary equipment required to perform process control testing as well as part and tool inspections.
  • Use calibrated precision measuring equipment.
  • Use inspection lights and magnifying aids.
  • Perform on site calibration of company measuring equipment.
  • Monitor processes for adherence to company & customer specifications
  • Ensure completeness of manufacturing processes prior to initiation of the next process step.
  • Document inspection results.
  • Complete and document AS9102 first article inspections.
  • Participate in and occasionally lead Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) events.
  • Compare test results with requirements and report results.
  • Provide internal customers with correct products and services, on time.
  • Create, communicate, and accomplish daily department schedules.
  • Retain part traceability & documentation throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Utilize MRP/ERP system to keep program data current.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years working in Quality Control
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 : AS9100D (preferred)
  • Knowledge of NADCAP (preferred)
  • Familiarity with the properties of aluminum alloy, properties of aluminum honeycomb core, metal forming, machining, heat treat, adhesive bonding, honeycomb sandwich layup, autoclave cure.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite, with high proficiency in Excel
  • Work Authorization: Must be a US Citizen with the ability to pass the Defense National Agency Check IAW DoDD 5200.2

Physical Demands/ ADA Compliance:

The employee may be required to stand for a full shift while wearing PPE. Must be able to lift 50lbs. Correctable vision to 20/20 with full depth perception. Ability to pass DOT Drug Testing requirements (49 CFR Part 40). Regularly required to push, pull, bend, and apply pressure using hand tools and operate machinery. The Employee may also be required to work in a heated environment and successfully pass the HCOA Respirator Qualification program as an essential job duty due to exposure to particulates and fumes.
