The Merchandiser plays a critical role in ensuring that retail products are displayed effectively to maximize sales and enhance the customer shopping experience. This position involves organizing and maintaining product displays, managing inventory levels, and collaborating with store management to implement promotional strategies. The Merchandiser is responsible for the physical handling of merchandise, including lifting and transporting heavy items safely and efficiently. By applying visual merchandising principles, the role helps create attractive, engaging point-of-purchase displays that draw customer attention and drive sales. Ultimately, the Merchandiser contributes to the overall success of the retail environment by ensuring products are presented in a way that supports brand standards and meets store goals.

  • Gulfport, MS

Responsibilities:

  • Arrange and maintain product displays according to company visual merchandising guidelines and seasonal promotions.
  • Transport merchandise from storage areas to sales floors using hand trucks and other equipment, ensuring safe handling of heavy items.
  • Monitor inventory levels on the sales floor and coordinate with store accounts to replenish stock as needed.
  • Balance the physical demands of lifting and carrying heavy weights while maintaining safety standards to prevent injury.
  • Collaborate with retail sales teams to optimize product placement and enhance customer engagement at point-of-purchase locations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in merchandising or retail environments involving physical handling of products.

  • Basic knowledge of visual merchandising principles and retail sales operations.
  • Familiarity with using hand trucks and other material handling equipment.
