The Life Sciences team provides specialized relocation services to clients in the Bio-Tech, Pharma, Education and Healthcare industries. Our decades of experience with projects in clinical and research environments are critical to support our clients with complex, detailed, and specialized projects. About the Role

The Senior Project Manager, Life Sciences, leads and supports complex laboratory relocation and transition projects within research, academic, and biotechnology environments. This role requires a strong understanding of laboratory operations, scientific equipment, and research environments, along with the ability to collaborate with scientists, lab managers, technicians, architects, engineers, construction teams, and specialized vendors. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing the full project lifecycle, serving as the primary client contact from early planning through relocation execution and post-move support while ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and with minimal disruption to research operations.

This position also involves coordination with facility and construction teams to ensure laboratory spaces are prepared to receive incoming equipment and research functions. The role requires the ability to review and interpret architectural, MEP, and laboratory equipment layout drawings and utilize tools such as CAD or Bluebeam to review plans, verify equipment placement, and track project documentation. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong project leadership, communication skills, and the ability to manage complex technical projects while coordinating multiple stakeholders and maintaining a high level of organization and client service.


Responsibilities -


Lead complex lab relocation projects from start to finish

  • Serve as primary client contact for projects ranging from small to multi-million-dollar transitions
  • Develop and manage detailed project schedules, budgets, and risk plans for projects in varied regulatory environments
  • Coordinate scientists, lab managers, facilities teams, general contractors, and specialty vendors
  • Deliver projects on time, on budget, and with minimal research disruption

Provide technical laboratory expertise

  • Inventory and validate lab equipment including power, HVAC, exhaust, plumbing, and specialty utilities
  • Interpret architectural and MEP drawings
  • Coordinate equipment placement, casework, and workflow planning
  • Plan shutdown and restart sequencing to protect equipment and research integrity

Drive financial and operational performance

  • Build and manage project budgets and forecasts
  • Negotiate vendor scopes and manage change orders
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting
  • Meet defined margin and KPI targets

Requirements -

  • 7+ years of project management experience supporting laboratory relocations, life science facilities, clinical, and/or research environments
  • BA/BS in life sciences, engineering, construction management, or related field preferred
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent project management credential strongly preferred
  • Experience coordinating with scientists, lab managers, technicians, facilities teams, architects, engineers, and vendors
  • Strong understanding of laboratory equipment, scientific instrumentation, and lab operational workflows
  • Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
  • Ability to review and interpret architectural, MEP, and laboratory equipment layout drawings
  • Familiarity with CAD drawings and/or Bluebeam for reviewing plans and tracking coordination items
  • Experience coordinating relocation logistics, vendor services, and specialized equipment moves
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage project schedules, track deliverables, and ensure project milestones are met
  • Experience leading project meetings and communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Frequent travel to client sites across the Bay Area
