In-Game Host - Seasonal / Part-Time Role Summary Are you an energetic and engaging performer with a passion for live entertainment. The Greensboro Groove are seeking an enthusiastic In-Game Host to enhance the fan experience during home games! This dynamic role requires interacting with fans, leading in-game activities, and bringing high-energy entertainment to every event. If you thrive in front of a crowd, enjoy engaging with people, and love basketball, this is the perfect opportunity to be part of the excitement! Essential Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary in-game host for all Greensboro Groove home games, welcoming fans, introducing various in-game promotions, and leading entertainment segments.
  • Engage with fans throughout the game, encouraging participation in cheers, chants, and interactive activities.
  • Organize and execute in-arena contests, promotions, and giveaways, working closely with the game operations team and sponsors.
  • Seamlessly incorporate sponsor messages and promotional content into the in-game entertainment experience while maintaining high energy and enthusiasm.
  • Conduct on-camera and live interviews with fans, players, coaches, and special guests.
  • Adapt quickly to game developments, weather conditions, and schedule changes to keep the entertainment experience running smoothly.
  • Other duties as assigned to enhance the game day atmosphere.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Knowledge of Basketball is not required but is a plus.
  • Comfortable speaking on a microphone and engaging large crowds with a confident and dynamic presence.
  • Some kind of previous experience as an emcee, performer, event host, or similar entertainment role preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to step outside your comfort zone, be spontaneous, and react quickly to in-game situations.
  • Availability to attend all home games, arriving at least two hours before game time.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong vocal talent with a clear, energetic, and engaging delivery.
  • Charismatic and outgoing personality with a great sense of humor.
  • Quick-thinking and adaptable to changing game situations.
  • Strong improvisational skills and the ability to keep energy levels high.
  • Comfortable working with mascots, referees, game-day staff, and promotional teams.
Work Environment:
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and move around the arena for extended periods.
  • Occasionally lifting promotional items or props up to 25 pounds.
