Your Contribution:

ย The Junior Loan Servicing and Escrow Specialist will service Real Estate loan accounts (First ML and HELOCs) in matters related to Insurance, taxes, flood, and all escrow-related tasks. Responsible for monitoring and maintaining hazard insurance, policy changes, tax payments, and flood coverage, including any force-placed insurance requirements. Service all real estate collateral documents and processes including, execution of partial deed releases, subordination document analysis, preparation and recording of successor in interest communications and validation, life of loan mortgage record document preparation and processing, and branch/operational real estate loan collateral support. Frequent contact with members, credit union employees, insurance companies, and tax offices.ย 


ย As a vital member of the LCCU team, your responsibilities include the following:

  • Work closely and communicate consistently with other Loan Servicing employees in completing work requirements.ย 
  • Responsible for ensuring security, maintenance, and compliance.ย 
  • Basic knowledge of Escrow accounts, Escrow analysis, Taxes, Insurance (Hazard and Flood), and Loss Drafts.ย 
  • Process county, city, and town real estate tax payments, and payment changes.ย 
  • Employees will be expected to cross-train in other areas of the entire department.ย 
  • Identify ways to make the department run more efficiently.ย 
  • Perform all Escrow Cancellations/Flood and Loan Servicing duties, such as processing homeowner's, wind/hail, and flood insurance policy cancellations and new business policy changes in a timely manner as well as any Force Placed insurance or Blanket policy changes as required.ย 
  • Assist the RE Loan Servicing and Escrow Specialist/Manager in resolving problems and handling insurance exceptions.ย 
  • Assist specialists with processing DOT Satisfactions, collateral jacket, collateral vault compliance, and successor in interest processing.ย 
  • Assist specialists with processing electronic storage/imaging of real estate collateral documentation.ย 
  • Work payment unposted reports and other reports as needed as well as reversals and service requests related to First MLs and HELOCs.ย 
  • Perform all duties of Servicing such as, posting payment rejects, quoting, and processing ML and HELOC payoffs, and consolidation of Loan Servicing Transactions.ย 
  • Assist Accounting or other departments to rectify any outstanding outages pertaining to Escrow or Servicing.ย 
  • Assist in the completion of monthly audits and work monthly/quarterly reports as needed.ย 
  • Process requests and assist credit union employees and members with Escrow and Servicing questions.ย 
  • Meet crucial deadlines for daily activities and department reports.ย 
  • Review insurance, taxes, and other documents to verify and address escrow-related issues.ย 
  • Enhance knowledge of Loan Servicing, Loss Mitigation, and Loan Origination departments.ย 
  • Maintain a basic knowledge of the Federal Regulations associated with Escrow and Servicing.ย 
  • Monitor the department's email and distribute incoming loan documents to the member's loans.ย 
  • Must communicate with branch personnel and closing agents to ensure compliance with Credit Union Escrow requirements.ย 
  • Coordinate with management to analyze workflow, develop departmental tasks, and update departmental procedures.ย 
  • Willing to assist in all areas of operations as needed.ย 
  • Other duties as assigned by management.ย

Required Qualifications:ย 

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent with 0 to 1 years of recent mortgage lending experience.ย 
  • Must obtain and maintain notary and/or eNotary certification.ย 
  • Obtain and maintain licenses/certifications as needed based on Credit Union services.ย 
  • Maintain basic knowledge of real estate lending products, policies, and guidelines.ย 
  • Meets compliance and regulatory standards in terms of loan servicing.ย 
  • Must be professional and courteous in all interactions with members, insurance and tax agents, and co-workers.ย 
  • Must be self-motivated and perform duties at an elevated level.ย 
  • Must adhere to the work schedule and attendance policy established by the manager.ย 
  • Must possess and demonstrate attention to detail, work accuracy, mathematical skills, and the ability to manage deadline pressures.ย 
  • Must have a basic understanding of Escrow and Loan Servicing procedures.ย 
  • Must be proficient in Excel, Word, and computer databases.ย 
  • Must be able to speak and write English & Spanish fluently is required.ย 
  • Must meet all LCCU (Latino Community Credit Union) mandated education requirements.ย 
  • Must possess an independent and strong work ethic.ย
