Job description

Are you an experienced Title Officer looking to take your career to the next level? Cottonwood Title is seeking a talented professional to join our team in Murray, Utah. As a full-time Title Officer, you will have the opportunity to showcase your expertise in real estate transactions while working in a dynamic and customer-focused environment. With a competitive salary range of $50,000 to $90,000 per year, based on experience, this position offers the chance to grow and excel in the real estate industry. If you are passionate about problem-solving, customer service, and integrity, we invite you to apply today.

You will be offered great benefits such as medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, health savings account, competitive salary, PTO, and a snack/drink room. Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the world of real estate with Cottonwood Title.

Cottonwood Title: Who We Are

Established in 2000, Cottonwood Title is the largest independent title insurance company in Utah. We have approximately 120 employees distributed across eight offices in Murray (headquarters), Midvale, Lehi, Orem, St. George, Layton, Centerville, and Salt Lake City (Parley's Way). Our customers include realtors, builders, lenders, commercial developers, and investors. We are known for our expertise and the best-in-class customer experience we provide.

Your role as a Title Officer

As a Title Officer at Cottonwood Title, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of real estate transactions, from subdivisions to metes and bounds properties to commercial searches. One of the unique aspects of this role is that title officers are not required to type their searches, allowing them to focus on their expertise in real estate transactions. Our team of typists ensures accurate documentation, while our dedicated proofing team reviews commitments and searches for quality assurance. In addition to conducting thorough title searches, title officers play a vital role in collaborating with escrow officers and assistants to address inquiries and resolve any title-related issues. Furthermore, as a senior member of the team, you will have the opportunity to mentor and train newer title officers and assistants, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning within the organization.

Requirements for this Title Officer job

To excel as a Title Officer at Cottonwood Title, candidates should possess strong skills in conducting title searches, with experience in handling metes and bounds properties. An active title officer license in the State of Utah is essential for this role. Proficiency in utilizing tools like Deed Plotter is highly beneficial.

Candidates with commercial real estate experience will have an added advantage. Effective communication skills are crucial for liaising with internal teams and clients. The ability to work collaboratively within a team setting, as well as independently, is vital for success in this position.

Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a dedication to upholding the highest standards of integrity are qualities that we value in our Title Officers at Cottonwood Title.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • Experienced performing title searches including M&B searches
  • Commercial experience is a plus but not required
  • Licensed as a title officer in the State of Utah
  • Knowledge of Deed Plotter is helpful
  • Sharp communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team and alone
Make your move

If you think this role will suit your needs, great! Applying is a piece of cake. Good luck - we're excited to meet you!
