Job description

To provide customers with the highest quality service by providing consistent customer service and shipment processing in order to ensure timely movement of freight/cargo. This role requires recurrent compliance training. โ€ข Provide and ensure a high level of customer service by developing and maintaining a strong relationship with customers' front line personnel in the various operating divisions and subsidiaries. โ€ข Prepare, analyze, and/or submit documentation to the appropriate parties (agents and clients) in order to ensure they are in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations relating to transportation.โ€ข Anticipate, identify, and resolve problems which could delay the timely release or movement of freight.โ€ข Maintain relationships with correspondent brokers, T&B, and other service providers to ensure that agents exceed the customers' service requirements.โ€ข Resolve banking and letter of credit problems.โ€ข Advise customers on payment terms.โ€ข Resolve billing issues and ensure that invoicing and vendor payments are billed accurately.โ€ข Complete accurate data input or corrections into computer files.โ€ข Obtain payment on delinquent accounts and/or complete accounting adjustment forms for review.โ€ข Develop rates and/or provide quotes for the movement of freight.โ€ข Research and negotiate Air Carrier and CFS rates.โ€ข Resolve billing issues on customer's behalf.โ€ข Generate special manual reports to meet customerโ€™s needs.โ€ข Participate in QBR meetings with customers via phone or face to face meetings.โ€ข Review Letters of Creditโ€ข Handle ITAR shipments.โ€ข Coordinate out of gauge shipments.โ€ข Handle Hazmat shipmentsโ€ข Monitor, address, and delegate all iServe Casesโ€ข Work with management in anticipating and/or identifying any existing problems with regard to workflow and productivity output.โ€ข Assist with training within the departmentโ€ข Assist in account implementation, including development of SOP with customers, operations, and sales department. The incumbent(s) of this position is expected to perform all other related duties as assigned. โ€ข High school diploma/GED. โ€ข Three (3) years of experience in freight forwarding or logistics or work/field experience โ€ข Proficient computer skills. โ€ข Strong cust svc, organizational, and communication (written/oral) skills. โ€ข Strong knowledge freight forwarding or logistics required. โ€ข Strong knowledge of air export regulations, if appropriate, related to export and Schedule B tariff classification. โ€ข Banking requirements for int'l trade. โ€ข "Regulations regarding dangerous goods shipping & foreign regulations." โ€ข Familiarity with handling hazardous materials. โ€ข Knowledge of regulations for import/export related to DOT. โ€ข Basic math skills for conversions to metric and currency evaluations. Preferred Qualifications: **Must meet the requirements in the listed job description.
