Position Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Project Manager to lead customerโfacing SaaS implementations supporting state agencies, Medicaid programs, and government healthcare and commercial healthcare organizations. This role is designed for a Project Manager who owns delivery, takes accountability for outcomes, and is comfortable operating in environments with regulatory oversight, external stakeholders, and fixed program expectations. This is not a PMO or coordination-only role. The Project Manager in this position is expected to be directly involved in execution, able to translate complex requirements into actionable plans, and confidently lead projects where timelines, compliance, and customer trust matter.
Key Responsibilities
As Project Manager, you will own endโtoโend delivery of healthcare and government SaaS implementationsโfrom kickoff through goโlive and stabilization. You will serve as the primary point of accountability for scope, schedule, risk, and customer satisfaction. Youโll work directly with state agency stakeholders, MMIS vendors, government and commercial healthcare program teams, and internal delivery resources, ensuring projects move forward decisively and transparently.
ยท Own the full lifecycle delivery of customerโfacing implementation projects for government and healthcare clients
ยท Serve as a primary external-facing lead, managing customer relationships and acting as the dayโtoโday point of coordination
ยท Develop and personally maintain detailed project plans, including milestones, dependencies, risks, and deliverables
ยท Drive dayโtoโday execution: track progress, manage issues, remove blockers, and maintain momentum across workstreams
ยท Proactively manage scope, schedule, and change control using disciplined, auditable processes
ยท Identify risks early and actively manage mitigation strategies; escalate when necessary with clarity and context
ยท Lead requirements workshops, implementation working sessions, design reviews, and status meetings
ยท Translate business, operational, and program needs into clear business requirements and functional specifications
ยท Coordinate with engineering, product, data, QA, and operations teams while retaining ownership of delivery outcomes
ยท Manage vendor or implementationโpartner dependencies when applicable
ยท Produce and maintain core project artifacts, including:
ยท Project plans and integrated timelines
ยท Executive and customer status reports
ยท Requirements and functional documentation
ยท Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes, templates, and execution practices
Required Experience & Qualifications
ยท 5+ years of project management experience, ideally within healthcare IT or governmentโrelated systems
ยท Candidates with 3+ years of PM experience may be considered if they bring strong healthcare IT or application deployment experience
ยท Proven experience managing IT, system, or application implementation projects, preferably customerโfacing
ยท Demonstrated experience working directly with external customers or accounts (e.g., client-facing PM, engagement manager, or delivery lead)
ยท Strong delivery fundamentals: scope management, dependency tracking, issue resolution, and risk mitigation
ยท Experience developing and managing business requirements and functional documentation
ยท Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially with nonโtechnical and executive stakeholders
ยท Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
ยท Experience with project delivery and tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Smartsheet, MS Project, ServiceNow, or similar)
ยท Bachelorโs degree or equivalent practical experience
Preferred Experience & Qualifications
ยท Experience working with state agencies, Medicaid programs, or MMIS vendors
ยท Background in healthcare claims processing, payment systems, or claims operations
ยท Government healthcare claims experience strongly preferred
ยท Commercial healthcare or claim payment experience acceptable
ยท Experience in program integrity, payment accuracy, or healthcare fraud (FWA) environments
ยท Experience supporting compliance, certification, audit, or readiness activities
ยท PMP or equivalent certification (CAPM, CPM, CSM, IPMA)
ยท Experience gathering or validating technical or system requirements
What Sets This Role Apart
ยท You own delivery outcomes, not just reporting
ยท You work directly with customers and program stakeholders
ยท You are trusted to drive decisions and execution
ยท Your experience with Medicaid, MMIS, or government healthcare is valued
ยท Success is measured by delivery, clarity, and accountability
