Project Manager โ€“ Natural Resources

Our continued growth presents an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager in our Natural Resources group. This position requires a strong focus on resource and workload planning, as well as the successful delivery of environmental projects. The role also involves participation in business development initiatives to support and expand our presence in the region.

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in natural sciences and have 8+ years of natural resource experience and possess PWS or CPSS certification, with a proven track record of successfully completing and/or managing multiple large, complex projects. Experience in direct employee management and demonstrated business development success is preferred.

The role includes implementing scopes of work related to environmental investigations, which may include wetland delineation, wetland permitting, agency coordination, non-environmental permitting tasks, environmental inspections, or site assessment activities. The Project Manager will be expected to define and price the scope of work for each project, coordinate fieldwork, and manage any required subcontractors.

Responsibilities Include:
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable wetland and permitting regulations as well as NEPA screening tools.

  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and how to apply them in wetlands data analysis.

  • Ability to independently complete site reviews and desktop analyses, conduct field studies, prepare project reports, and communicate findings with the project team, stakeholders, clients, and regulatory agencies.

  • Familiarity with all relevant environmental regulations, as well as site vegetation, soils, and hydrology.

  • Evaluate potential permitting needs through comprehensive data analysis.

  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate activities across multiple disciplines on projects of all sizes, from conception through completion.

  • Advanced report and permit writing skills.

  • Proficiency in client and agency communication via phone and email. Project Managers should be able to independently engage with clients and regulators, scope projects, and prepare complex cost proposals.

  • Ensure successful project completion by coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, maximizing profitability, and meeting billable targets.

  • Participate in leadership development programs, providing a unique opportunity to make a broad and meaningful impact at BL while advancing leadership capabilities.

Required Experience:
  • 8+ years of Natural Resource experience

  • CPSS certification (required)

  • Supervisory experience (preferred)

  • Business development experience (preferred)
