Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Manager, Implementations is responsible for leading the execution of enterprise operational initiatives, including both process and technology changes, across the organization. The incumbent drives the planning, deployment, and sustained adoption of operational capabilities in close partnership with Field teams, Functional teams, Product Owners, Information Technology, and vendor partners. The Senior Manager, Implementations ensures initiatives are operationally ready, scalable, and consistently executed across diverse business lines. The role requires strong cross-functional coordination to align business processes, technology capabilities, and field execution. The incumbent leads a team of 20+ managers, supervisors, analysts, and specialists and is accountable for delivering consistent implementation outcomes, building organizational capability, and driving measurable business impact through disciplined execution and effective change management.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the end-to-end planning, deployment, and adoption of enterprise operational initiatives, including process improvements and technology-enabled changes.

  • Manage and develop a team of 20+ resources; establish clear performance expectations and foster a high-performing, execution-focused culture.

  • Partner with Field teams and Functional stakeholders, as well as Product Owners and IT, to ensure operational readiness, including alignment of processes, training, support models, and deployment plans.

  • Develop and execute comprehensive change management plans, including stakeholder engagement, communications, training, and adoption tracking.

  • Establish scalable, repeatable implementation and deployment strategies to ensure consistent execution across business units and regions.

  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders across Field Operations, Functional teams, IT, Product, and vendors to ensure alignment and delivery of intended outcomes.

  • Define and monitor KPIs to track implementation progress, adoption, and operational impact.

  • Identify and manage risks, dependencies, and issue resolution across initiatives.

  • Ensure quality and consistency of implementation deliverables aligned with company standards and best practices.

  • Lead executive-level communications, including status updates and performance reporting.

  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying process gaps and scaling best practices.

  • Ensure effective transition to ongoing support by coordinating with support organizations and vendors.

  • Contribute to cost-benefit analyses and strategic planning.

  • Performs other job duties as assigned or apparent.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:

  • Excellent project management skills, utilizing an understanding of project management tools and concepts to drive implementation and modernization activities.

  • Intermediate to advanced skills in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Visio and can produce and present meaningful content.

  • Applied understanding of resource-based, enterprise technology support and user adoption strategies.

  • Ability to develop a deep understanding of current-state operational processes and envision areas of opportunity to drive maximum product value.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams in a highly matrixed environment.

  • Experience preparing and giving professional presentations to groups at all levels, including executive leadership.

  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale operational implementations across process and technology domains.

  • Proven ability to lead and develop a large team

  • Experience partnering with Field Operations, Functional teams, Product Owners, and IT.

  • Strong expertise in change management and driving adoption.

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and influencing skills.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and execution capabilities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 8+ years of experience leading large scale process improvement and technology deployments through the use of project management and change methodologies.

  • Management experience required, with a proven track record of leading and developing employees.

We also formed Blue Polymers, a joint venture with Ravago, to develop facilities that will further process plastic material from our Polymer Centers to help meet the growing demand for sustainable packaging. We continue to advance decarbonization at our landfills. As demand for renewable energy continues to grow, we have 70 landfill gas-to-energy projects in operation and plan to expand our portfolio to 115 projects by 2028.
