Job Title: Senior Project Manager โ€“ Financial Planning
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid โ€“3 Days/Week Onsite)
Duration: Long-Term Contract - (W2 only)
 
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and deliver strategic initiatives for the Financial Planning team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex cross-functional projects, driving stakeholder alignment, and ensuring successful project execution within scope, schedule, and budget. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with experience supporting finance-related initiatives in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead end-to-end project management for Financial Planning initiatives and strategic programs.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Coordinate with Finance, Accounting, IT, and business stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Manage project risks, dependencies, issues, and change requests while ensuring timely resolution.
  • Track project progress and provide regular status updates to executive leadership and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate project meetings, steering committee sessions, and cross-functional workshops.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet business objectives.
  • Drive process improvements and implement project management best practices.
  • Manage vendor and third-party relationships, where applicable.
  • Support organizational change management, user adoption, and communication planning.
Required Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of project management experience, including leading enterprise-level initiatives.
  • Experience managing projects within Financial Planning, FP&A, Finance Transformation, or Corporate Finance environments.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and cross-functional teams simultaneously.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Jira, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or Azure DevOps.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Bachelor''s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, or Scrum Master certification.
  • Experience with Financial Planning tools such as Anaplan, Oracle Hyperion, SAP SAC, Workday Adaptive Planning, or OneStream.
  • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and planning processes.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Workday.
  • Experience working in large enterprise or Fortune 500 environments.
